Extremely toxic fans at shows?
Hello, this is my first post in this subreddit and I'm a rather new fan! That being said, my girlfriend is a really big fan and has been for a couple years, so naturally we went to go see Florence a total of two times. Once she went by herself and once we saw her at Sziget literally yesterday lol
That being said, I'm starting to notice a really nasty pattern. A lot of fans are... To say it bluntly, extremely obsessed, but what seems to an unhealthy degree which makes them act toxic to other fans. When my gf went to go see her in Prague, she was rather close to the front of the queue and nearly got barricade, with two much taller ladies standing in front of her, there was space between them.. so she tried to see if she could wiggle in. The ladies only pushed on each other, looked at her meanly and were asking each other if they see alright.. even tho she wasn't taking their space anyhow?
Next, on Sziget, we were queuing at the main stage (yes, judge us, we were there mainly for her and wanted to get the best experience to see Paris, her and even Lewis) and we got to talk to some fans who were sitting next to us. Specifically this one guy and his friend. They were nice, he was sharing some tips about how it went down at Zara Larsson's, all that. Then, when the barricade run started, I secured TWO SPOTS!! For both me and her. She was on crutches as she's having hip issues after a surgery, so I was waiting till she'd waddle her way to us... That's when his friend asks if we could swap so she could stand next to him... Sure, but that was a mistake. Suddenly my space shrunk to be one person's... Sure, at least she'll be able to stand at barricade as she's the bigger fan and I'd be able to see over her.... The upcoming multiple hours of the shows were a disaster. She stood at the barricade and the people next to her PUSHED HER OUT by actively pushing at her hips with theirs, continuously expanding their space until she literally couldn't stand anymore because she was in pain... So second row for us it was. These two extreme fans then ended up ignoring all the other artists playing for us, being on their phone, texting people, listening to music on earphones?? While a smaller artist was playing??? Asking for Paris Paloma's setlist.... Even tho they didn't sing a single word and didn't know her??? Laughing at people clapping at the artists before Florence and making fun of them.... Once Florence came, absolute and utter euphoria, looking like they're having a religious experience and reaching out and closing their eyes like they're ascending... Even tho they apparently saw her like for the multipleth time.
TL;DR?
What's up with the extremely mean and disrespectful "superfans" that will do anything for barricade, even hurting people actively and being rude, have seen her 10 times and will continue to do so, while treating her like a literal god? (Don't get me wrong, I also had a religious experience seeing the goddess myself but yk there's a limit...) I'm not the only one who's had these experiences as another friend of ours also saw her and again, extremely rude people.....
I'm sure Florence wouldn't condone any of this behavior.
