So Ive wanted a sleeve tattoo since I was probably about 15 years old (I’m late 20s now). I had an appointment to start one when I was 18 and chickened out a week before. I had another appt about two years ago and then found out i was pregnant literally the day before my appt and obviously ended up canceling again..
Both appointments I had wanted a mermaid, and both times the designs have changed, (and im kind of glad i didnt get either of the original mermaids).
Now that I’ve pretty much perfected the design, im definitely more confident this is what i want to do. i have other tattoos that i love, but I guess I’m nervous about not liking a sleeve “on me” being such a big piece.
Im also a redhead with freckles, so my skin isnt like “pretty”, thats a smooth even color.
Ive done a little photoshop on what it would look like on my body and, to me, it makes me look very masculine.?
Im terrified of not liking it on my body and regretting ever getting it. I know the photoshop isnt the most accurate but i wanted to get an idea of how it would look.
I guess i need some advice and opinions. Has anyone gotten a sleeve and regretted it and if so, why? Thanks in advance.

I have had my arm tattoos for 3 years and for a past half a year I started feeling a bit ”funny ugly” in sleeveless shirts and dresses.
I love my dragon tattoo and my gengar tattoo, but I decided that I don’t really want to get more arm tattoos and I feel like they might look funny on their own.
I also have a tattoo next to gengar (on the last pic) which I decided to laser out because the placement is too close and doesnt look flattering (I wanted them so close because I was planning more tattoos there)
Gengar on its own on the arm might also look funny and I wish I had him on some other place, but it holds a nice memory for me so I don’t really want to laser him.
Anyway would you keep it as it is or do I look funny?
I originally wanted to do traditional patchwork but things changed as we progressed. Thinking I need to continue with the style onto my other side of my chest and upper arm but am unsure. I would like to do some patchwork at some point on my forearms but don’t know if that would look any good. Taking any advice and opinions.

I would love some help for ideas on ideas for a tattoo on burn scars such as left and right arm and left top thigh and left shoulder have looked and thought about what to do for them forever and I cannot find anything and the ones I have kinda liked professionals said that the lines will distort or it will not look great thank you for your thoughts and time to help think everything is welcome (except flame tattoos) heard that I should get that one to many times😂
Just got my first tattoo yesterday (its been more than 24 hours by now)! I cant tell if the peeling at the top is too close to the tattoo or not. Im supposed to leave the 2nd skin on for 3-5 days but just wanted to make sure that it is still sterile under there.
No liquid has escaped but the part im worried about is the top so I dont think liquid would usually escape up there on account of gravity. Should i remove it? Sorry if the answer is obvious, but again, it is my first tattoo.
EDIT: Took it off and did my aftercare! I also reached out to my artist to ask about it and he said to take it off. Wasn’t sure if it was too late to ask him so i asked here first. Thank you guys!
I got this custom cuttlefish piece at a convention yesterday and I loved the artists portfolio but he didn't have any healed work which might have been a red flag. Is this blowout and if so is there any chance it'll get worse?
Hello, I hope this is the right community to ask about that type of question, i am just wondering how frowned upon are tattoos in today's job market(middle Europe), since I i am 18 and don t want to be stupid I just want to know what kind of tattoos are frowned upon most or what would definitely get me the boot anywhere i went searching for a job.
It's not like i want to tattoo a giant penis on my forehead, but it's still something i think about a lot when i think what i want to do for a living.
Tattoos have always amazed me and i love them since i can remember, I always found them cool and they have always inspired me on how unique they can get and how much they can tell about a person owning them.
I am in a type of school that opens many doors for a future career (must go to a university at some point), mainly because I i didn t know what I wanted to be at the end of the primary school and to be honest I still don t. I would like to become a tattoo artist if possible but because of today s competitive economy, all the competition(quite a few tattoo shops in my region considering the population) and the fast march of Artificial intelligenc e(i support real artists mods don t strike me down please) evolution and mechanisation I am afraid to commit to such a career since besides all that I don t think I i have enough skill to be one(at least not at the moment my shadows are still wrong and I don t want to give someone a tattoo until i am sure i am capable of making it perfect).
That leaves me with a dreadful feeling, because if I can't t be a tattoo artist or choose a different career path in my life I don t want to make a decision now on the placement or theme of the tattoo that could ruin my chances at fulfilling that goal later on in life.

i got these 5 days ago, i think they might be ingrown hairs but these are the largest tattoos i’ve ever gotten and im sososososososo anxious. i’m going to message my artist tomorrow when she’s back in her shop.

I’m curious about the long-term side of things too, like whether your taste changes, how you feel about them years later, and whether they ever cause issues with jobs or family.
Basically, if you genuinely like tattoos, is it worth getting one or should you wait until you’re 100% sure? 👀
So as the title says I have been considering finally fixing the tattoos I hate most on my body and those are my current back pieces. I got these in my teenage years and have regretted it since.
Ive avoided doing anything about them cause I figured it would be too difficult of an ask or too expensive. But I’d really like to finally try and find an artist comfortable with possibly either covering up these tattoos with a large back piece or doing a blast over. I don’t really mind if I still see them a bit but overall I just want a better looking back. I’ve met with laser tattoo removal offices and they informed me that because of the colors, it wouldn’t completely work and if anything I’d be left with some of the coloring still that would look like a bruise.
So essentially I’m trying to know if covering this up with a large floral piece as a coverup or blast over is even possible?
So I got, like a lot of people a stupid Friday the 13th tattoo roughly two years ago. I immediately after getting it hated it and regretted it but it was on my body permanently. My friend has hinted on gifting me a cover up of it for Christmas/my birthday and I was wondering how hard or easy it would be to cover this? The lines are thick so I know something delicate won't work. I don't really have an idea of what I would want instead.
I got these 2 pieces on Friday 10/9/2026. Currently as i’m writing this, tomorrow would be Monday 10/12 and i want to resume my regular routine and possibly hit a light workout in the gym.
I keep reading totally different pieces of advice such as you can work out with your second skin, some saying you can’t and it’ll get infected. My artist told me it’s fine to workout in the second skin, but to keep it on for 7 days.
Also read 7 days is too much and 3-5 days is generally fine. I want to make sure i am in the clear to workout but am puzzled to what i can and can’t do. With 2nd skin or no. Please let me know
I got the tattoo 6 hours ago.
got it done about 24 hours ago now and the second skin is very wrinkled but still in tact around the edges. it looks very blurry and smudged and has blood pools. better to take it off now and clean and use aftercare products or wait another 2 days or so ?
