When can i wear a bra again?

Im very heavy chested so wearing a bra while I'm healing is not the best idea, I was wondering when during thr healing process I'll be able to again. they are very symmetrical i just have my shoulder a little higher on one side :)

Edit: hopefully this post is locked by the time anyone looking for advice sees this in the future. A lot of you people are gross.

Tattoo pain scale for bicep / inner bicep / ditch

Hi everyone,

I'm planning to get a tattoo on my bicep / inner bicep. I have an outer forearm tattoo which was a 5/10 for me on pain, with the inner forearm being a 6-7/10 but a shorter session so not as bad.

How bad in your experience was your experience getting tattooed in the region photoed? I am not planning to go high up towards the armpit.

The session will last 5-6 hours, I have some experience but always find myself shaking around the 3 hour mark when the colour comes out. My artist discourages painkillers / blood thinners / numbing cream so am wondering how I can best prepare as I know it's typically a more sensitive spot.

Thanks

Miss placed tattoo

Hey everyone, I recently got this "SOLITUDE" tattoo. I originally wanted the text placed right where I drew the black circle, but my artist strongly insisted on moving it higher up.
Can anyone explain the technical or healing reasons why they refused the lower placement ? I want to understand their perspective better. Thanks!

First tattoo! Need heavy advice

Tomorrow I am getting my very first tattoo and I am SO excited as I’ve looked up to this artist for like A YEAR!

I wanted to get a gecko or something reptile related on my tricep just above my elbow, and the custom design my artist came back with is FIREEEE I love it.

My mom (who is very against tattoos) loves it too! But she tells me if I get it on my upper tricep I won’t get a job because “times are changing”… which I don’t fully believe. I am a manager at my job, and I know that all of the people that work at my work have tattoos and full sleeves. I feel like personally people have stopped caring about things like that, and especially since my tattoo will be quite small and tasteful I don’t know what else I can say to convince her it’s alright?

I know it comes from a place of love, but I really want it there and I’m not sure how to tell her it will be ok. Any thoughts?

Would this be too much and hideous?

For years now I've been thinking of getting something like this done. Not sure if it might be a bit too much and awful. Had this design layered onto a photo of me to see how it would look. Thoughts and opinions?

Feeling self conscious about my tattoo

So, I got this tattoo last year and I loved it at first. My daughter drew the mushroom when she was young, and my husband and I wanted to get it as a family thing (his tattoo is completely different but still revolves around the mushroom). I added the cloud as my husband and the sun as me. You know, the whole grumpy/sunshine trope. Then added my cat because he’s the best boy and I love him. It’s supposed to look like a child’s drawing. The picture looks blurrier than it actually is.

Anyway, I’ve gotten some compliments but mostly weird looks, and I’m starting to feel weird and self conscious about it. It’s on the upper part of my forearm.

I’m wondering if there’s anything I can put around it or below it so it doesn’t stand out as much? Is it too colorful to cover up?

Is my tattoo infected or just irritated?

I got this piece on Monday, it’s not Thursday morning. I work for UPS and I had second skin, a compression short sleeve shirt, and a tight UV arm sleeve on all day Tuesday in 80° weather. It held alot of sweat and made my arm break out in tiny pimples but I’m not sure if the actual tattoo is infected or not. I clean it 3x a day with fragrance free soap in the shower then a coat of H2Ocean soap. Also moisturizing with Hustle butter 3-4x a day. This is my first tattoo and it was expensive for the session so I COULD be overthinking but I need some opinions. Everyone (including my artist) said it’s not infected and an EMS just said it looked irritated.

Do you reckon it would be weird for a non-religious queer person to get a religious tattoo on his arm?

I just love the old religious art so much.

And I wanted something to counteract the EVIL on the other side. I also already have a cross on me.

I just don’t know if it’s weird or like a contradiction to have it on my arm for everyone to see.

strawberry tattoo update, please tell me she’s looking better

day three of antibiotics, went to doctors today and was told the skin was overworked in certain spots and it got infected. i followed the aftercare from the shop: they told me to keep the 2nd skin until the next morning, and it fell off within 12hours the next morning from being loaded with plasma and ink, i followed their instructions using unscented soap and their aftercare cream. day 4 it started to get inflamed with infection, went to hospital for antibiotics and slowly getting better … i don’t know does it look better? I have lost a lot of ink from the infection and im worried Ill have lots of scaring or the tattoo will be bumpy? No idea. The gashes feel painful like a claw scratch in some spots. First two photos are from today, the rest are over the previous days.

edit: im not gonna put neosporin 😭

edit 2: theres also a new small cyst/swollen lymph to the top left (you cant see, but is it related)

edit 3: guys, i drank too much liquid courage one night at karaoke and got my FRIENDS name tatted on me. that does not mean i have bp, bpd, hypomania or any other condition. if that were the case, believe me, i wouldnt be as stable financially or emotionally. im actually in the best place ive been in my life with several new opportunities. i understand the concern, but its the way that i word things for more dramatic effect lol. to put your minds at ease, i do go to therapy once a week & have been for 15 years. ive been with my company going on 4 years now and have healthy realtionships with everyone in my life.

Do I need to fill the rest up?

I love this piece (the scorpion) but I’m not sure if it looks incomplete? Should I fill the rest around it and make it a half sleeve? Also just curious what people think about it! Also, I got the wreath a long time ago and believe it or not it looked worse than it does now because I got it touched up last year but I’m also thinking that needs another touch up? So many thoughts lol!

Does it hurt that bad?

I wanna get a peony tattoo on my buttcheeks one in each one and only linework. I already have bot my legs tattooed and my hands too, I have enough experiences but I’d appreciate if y’all could tell me if it hurts that bad I plan on getting em all in one session :)

*Photo por reference*

Can I tattoo on my badly hyperpigmented skin?

This would be my first tattoo but I'm not confident if my skin is good enough to be tattooed. The artist is asking for images of the area with dimensions drawn on. Feeling a little unsure since seeing the pictures 😔

I've always had hyperpigmentation like this for as long as I can remember. One image is the left arm and the other is the right. Ignore the dots and lines.

Disappointed in My Tattoo Alteration... Can It be Fixed?

This is my first tattoo. I loved it, but I thought the face looked too short. I asked the same tattoo artist if she could lengthen the nose and I sent her several reference pictures of what I was hoping for (also in this post), and she reassured me that she could get it done. Today was the appointment and I was in and out. She told me it was going to look funny because of the fresh ink and I trusted her on that, but several hours later I'm realizing that the nose looks more like a pig snout and less like the pictures which is what I was hoping for. When I emailed her on this she gave me a rather concerning response (last picture is her response) and now I feel disappointed + upset because I showed her what I wanted and she told me it could be done but now I feel like I am stuck with something I don't really like and was also not what I was expecting... what should I do should I go to a different artist or try to ask her to fix it? I'm worried if I keep trying to get it touched up it will look worse too...

Líneas con relieve

Hola! Gracias!

Blackout, removal or leave it?

Hi guys, I got a new tattoo and there are elements I don’t like. Maybe it’s just tattoo regret right after since it’s fresh, I don’t know. I wanted to go for a whimsical look but I feel it’s too realistic/bold. What do you guys think? I made an edit how I would maybe want it to look. Any input would be appreciated ☺️

Edit: thank you everybody for the advice and input, I really appreciate it a lot. I’m glad there are so many people who like the tattoo, it really helped me feel more reassured and remember why I wanted this in the first place and how I loved it before today. I’m glad I posted this to help me out of that spiral I was getting myself in. So thanks people! Love ❤️
I am going to leave it and take my time to get used to it like many have said, it’s a big piece and tattoo shock is temporary. It’s gonna be okay

By the way guys, with blackout I don’t mean full blackout of my leg, but black fill in of some of the lines like how I edited in the third picture. Sorry for the confusion, should’ve worded that differently.

“ is this infected “ for the 1000th time

I’ve seen so many “ is this infected “ posts that I have to speak out . Go to a shop that has a great reputation, Listen to their instructions , Google beforehand and ask your artist any questions that you have on tattoo care , get whatever you’re gonna use before you get tattoo and ask your artist what they think of you care selections, and last but certainly not least remember the old saying “ good tattoos aren’t cheap and cheap tattoos aren’t good “ . Follow the instructions, keep tattoo clean , don’t put too much of anything on tattoo ( blocking the tattoo from breathing is a huge mistake) and you will never have to post “ is this infected “ and you can go straight to “ why does my tattoo look so dull a week after I got it “

Help identifying type of skin trauma

Yesterday I had a girl with extremely sensitive skin come in and parts of the work reacted in a way I'd never seen before, she bled almost instantly and those parts look like they bruised. (Right side first picture) I told her I was sorry and I wasn't sure what happened but to keep me updated on the healing and to be careful treating that area.
I've been tattooing for over a year and while I have my decent share of bad first tattoos, I'm pretty confident now in my ability to give people decent works, I'll add some other pictures healed and fresh for reference. I've also tattooed that same area before so I don't think it's an area related issue. Anyhow, I wanted to ask more experienced tattooers if they've encountered the same kind of issue, or if they know exactly what it is, what could have caused it and if I should let her know any extra precautions in taking care of the piece. Thank you in advance!
Edit: immediately editing to avoid confusion, I did go through a regular apprenticeship in Italy which lasts a year in my region.
