Advise on medical bill situation

Hi guys! I am feeling better but need some advice on my medical situation bill situation.

I currently owe the hospital that poisoned me ~$3,400. I have paid off some of the hospital visits but I still owe 2 that total to $3,400. All of this started from 1 IV of Cipro and taking 4 pills that they instructed me to take. I took the pills that I got from my pharmacy the next couple of days. Just curious how I should handle. I’m assuming I have no proof that I can present that they caused all this bullshit and damage to my body and there is zero chance they waive any of the bills. Is there anything I can do to get it reduced? I have insurance and they covered most of the bills. My insurance ends tomorrow and my new policy will start on September 1st. Need some advice because I honestly have no idea what to do. I am currently working part-time again and am doordashing occasionally as well for money. Thanks again!

Crying every single day. I really messed up my life, man.

I wish I never went to the ER that day. I should have just went to urgent care but I freaked out and wasn’t thinking. I should have just called my doctors office and went there instead of being scared to call. I should have stopped taking Cipro after the 2nd pill when I started getting tingling in my foot.

I messed up so bad, man. This could have all been avoided and now I’m stuck with $4,000 in hospital bills and a fucked up body. All I can do is just cry. WHY DID I DO THIS TO MYSELF??

Bad Stomach/Gut Problems Still

Hi all,

I was floxed in April this past year. I am making very good progress recovery as I am back at work and trying to do things. I’m a 28 yr old Male.

My stomach/gut/both? are still messed up a little bit. I’m getting slight cramping modt times when I eat. It normally lasts for about 30 min and then goes away. My bowels are not back to pre-flox level. I am going every morning again (which is good) but the color is off and I frequently will have to go again a few hours later. The color has a either greenish tint or yellowish tint to it and is never rich brown like it was before. This was not happening before my flox. My stomach really got messed up taking Cipro and then got really messed up again after I developed Shiga E. coli three weeks later.

Any tips or solutions you guys have for me? I’m praying I recover but this is so much damage on my gut that I’m losing hope that it will heal completely.

Thanks guys!

Red veins in whites of eyes

I know this is a minor physical symptom, but did anyone get really bad red veins in their eyes? Mine are super noticeable now. Is there anything I can do to make them go away, or at least reduce in size? Did they eventually go away on their own or improved over time for you?

Before flox my eye whites were completely clear and now they look so shitty and gross. Everytime I look in the mirror and see the veins it reminds me of the damage it has done to my body.

I have so much regret

All I think about is that day. I have so much regret going to the emergency room that day, April 17th. I have so much regret freaking the fuck out because I had the urge to pee and it wouldn’t go away so I went to the emergency room. They told me that nothing was wrong and told me to follow up with primary care and urologist. I could have just waited out the week and half, taken off work and school to find out what was wrong. I wish I never went back to the hospital that Friday. I could have completely avoided all of this. I wish I read the pamphlet of Cipro more closely when I picked up my prescription at the pharmacy.

I wish I would have stopped taking the Cipro after the 2nd dose when I got tingling in my feet, and not listened to my mom who told me to stop being a baby and listen to the doctors instructions. I ended up taken 2 more doses after that for total of 5 doses. I wish I had just listened to my body and called the urologist office to tell them I wanted to stop the Cipro.

I am so much regret. I think about these occurrences everyday since I got floxxed. It was so avoidable and I was so headstrung that I had a UTI when I had an overactive bladder the whole time. I fucked my life up so badly now. I missed the last 3 weeks of school, lost my job, and have been floxxed for the last 7 weeks. I wish I did so many things differently looking back now and I think about those days all the time. I’m so upset because I created so many health problems for me when I didn’t have any. I have protein in my urine now, my gut is all swollen and I’m constipated all the time. My back, legs, and arms are burning.

Possible Kidney Damage?

I am having foamy urine for the past week and half ago. What’s odd is I did a 24 hour urine test 2 weeks prior and Nephrologist said there wasn’t anything wrong. I don’t have any pain in my back or when I urinate. I just have the foamy urine and my urine color is yellower than normal.

Protein level was at 361. Albumin and creatine were normal. eGFR was 109 about a week ago.

Is this permanent kidney damage from the Cipro? I took 4 tablets of 500 mg and was given 1 iv dose in the ER from April 18th to 21st.

I’ve been feeling super dry lately. Like face dry, nose, eyes, throat, mouth dry. Wondering if it because of that. Thanks for the help!
