The Senegalese Professional Football League (LSFP) has observed, during the 26th and 27th matchdays of the National League 1 and League 2 championships, the introduction and use of occult practices in certain sports venues. These incidents have been widely shared on social media.

The LSFP reminds everyone that, for several seasons, it has been carrying out concrete actions aimed at eradicating such practices from Senegalese professional football, notably through the enforcement of sanctions provided for under the regulations in force.

These behaviors are contrary to the values and standards of professional sport. They have no basis in high-level football practice, which relies on preparation, discipline, sporting merit, and fairness in competition between clubs. Their public exposure seriously harms the image of the championship and undermines efforts to develop Senegalese professional football.

To this end, match commissioners’ reports, as well as any evidence brought to the League’s attention, will be subject to a thorough review by the disciplinary commission in order to determine responsibility.

The LSFP calls on all clubs to support its efforts by raising awareness among their leaders, technical staff, and players, and by ensuring that no such practices are tolerated at competition venues.
