UniFi Access + Altronix Trove for Larger Multi-Door Installs
For anyone doing larger UniFi Access installs, figured I’d share a setup I’ve been working on.
If you’re doing a bunch of doors and don’t want 10 different enclosures hanging on the wall, Altronix Trove is worth looking at. It also lets you keep the strike power separate from the UniFi Door Hubs, which I prefer.
This setup is for 9 doors and everything will fit into 2 enclosures.
And before anyone asks why I didn’t just use the Enterprise Access Hub (EAH-8), I wanted more flexibility. The EAH-8 is a bit limited on reader inputs and relays. If you want the option of 2 readers on certain doors, or extra relays for postal locks, delivery access, intercoms, etc., the standard UA-Hub-Door works better IMO.
The UniFi hubs handle the access control, and the Altronix AL400ULXB2 + ACM8CB handle the strike power separately.
Parts:
- 9x UA-Hub-Door
- 2x TROVE2BL2
- 2x AL400ULXB2
- 2x ACM8CB
- 2x USW-Flex-2.5G-8-PoE
- 2x UACC-Switch-DIN
Makes for a pretty clean setup and gives you a lot more flexibility than having individual power supplies/enclosures everywhere.
Anyone else doing larger UniFi Access installs this way? Curious what everyone else is using for enclosures and lock power.
