Boruto vs Naruto Sage Mode

Main Argument

Contrary to popular opinion, Naruto without Kurama is not necessarily weaker than adult Boruto. With the right tactical approach, Naruto has a strong chance of winning thanks to his experience and superior battlefield control.

Naruto’s Strengths

Enhanced Sage Mode: With age and experience, Naruto’s chakra control has improved, allowing him to maintain Senjutsu for longer than he could during the Pain arc.

Massive Chakra Reserves: Thanks to his Uzumaki heritage, Naruto can fight a battle of attrition and continuously create hundreds of Shadow Clones.

Sensory Abilities and Frog Kumite: Naruto’s sensory skills give him a complete awareness of the battlefield, while natural energy extends the effective range of his physical attacks beyond the reach of his fists.

Boruto’s Weaknesses

Limitations of Flying Thunder God: Boruto needs pre-established marks to teleport. Naruto can detect these marks with his sensory abilities and destroy the objects carrying them.

Karma’s Weaknesses: Karma cannot absorb physical attacks, and attempting to absorb Naruto’s Senjutsu chakra could potentially result in petrification.

Risk of Losing Control: In a prolonged battle, repeatedly activating Karma increases the risk of Momoshiki temporarily taking control of Boruto’s body.

Rasengan Uzuhiko — The Biggest Factor

The Threat: Uzuhiko utilizes the planet’s rotation, and Naruto has no direct counter to this technique.

The Weakness: It requires roughly 30 seconds of preparation and sustained contact. Naruto would never give Boruto that much time, constantly pressuring him with Shadow Clones.

Conclusion

Boruto is a fighter built around burst damage and speed, while Naruto is a master of adaptation and battlefield control. The longer the fight continues, the more Naruto can take control of the battle, neutralize Boruto’s speed advantage, and ultimately win through endurance and tactical adaptation.

Jougan & Kokugan. Whaaaat?

Hi.The more I look at Boruto and Kawaki, the more convinced I am that the Jougan and Kokugan might actually be two halves of the same power.

Boruto's Jougan appears in his right eye, while Kawaki's Kokugan appears in his left. Even their Otsutsuki horns mirror this: Boruto's grows on the right, while Kawaki's grows on the left. That feels less like coincidence and more like intentional symbolism.

Their abilities also seem perfectly complementary. The Jougan is connected to dimensions, perception, spirit, and possibly time, while the Kokugan controls matter and space through Sukunahikona and Daikokuten. In other words, one represents spirit and creation, while the other represents matter and form almost like Yin and Yang.

And this could connect directly to Shibai. His abilities seem to cover an enormous range of powers, while his eyes may hint at both sides of this system. Boruto and Kawaki could have inherited different fragments of that power through completely different paths: Boruto through his bloodline and Momoshiki, and Kawaki through Isshiki, Karma, and Amado's experiments with Shibai's remains.

Japanese mythology makes this even more interesting. In the story of Izanagi, the right eye gives birth to Tsukuyomi, associated with the moon and spirit, while the left eye gives birth to Amaterasu, associated with the sun and matter. That's almost exactly the same right-eye/left-eye symbolism we see with Boruto and Kawaki.

If this theory is correct, their Karma resonance could be more than a random side effect. It might be the system itself reacting to two fragments of the same original power coming together.

And that could completely change the meaning of their final battle. Maybe it won't simply be about Boruto vs. Kawaki. Maybe it's about whether the two halves of Shibai's power will finally become whole again and whether that complete power should ever be allowed to return.
