TLDR: Uzuhiko’s activation time has always been instantaneous, this chapter hasn't shown anything new. The charge time only affects the potency of the Jutsu. It needs neither charge up time to activate or use. It’ll just be weaker. Even if he starts walking, therefore no longer taking in the planet’s Chakra, the energy he’s taken in so far doesn’t dissipate. Even at its weakest, the effects are brutal and permanent. Its actually busted as fuck.
Wanted to clear up something I've seen a few people confused on. I saw a few people commenting on the fact that in the latest chapter, Boruto seemingly activated Uzuhiko instantly against Code. One page Boruto’s about to insert the bulb and Code tries his sneak attack, the next Boruto instantly activates Uzuhiko and attempts a counterattack. Some thought that it was because of the Karma, or he was already charging it from before (He wasn’t. If anybody saw what looked like wind or the energy that swirls around Boruto when he uses Uzuhiko before he went to the Juubi dimension, that was Bug’s bulb beginning to rot. We saw more of that steam come out when the bulb rotted completely and fizzled out). Others thought it might just be that he charged it off screen and Ikemoto didn’t want to waste the pages showing it. The actual answer is that Boruto did in fact activate it instantly and the Karma had nothing to do with it. Wanted to use this to explain a bit about Uzuhiko and clear up any possible confusion.
You see, Uzuhiko's activation time has always been nigh-instantaneous. People have confused the fact that Uzuhiko has to be charged for power with its activation time. This isn’t the case. The first time we saw Boruto use it against Code, he instantly activated it. The next time against Hidari it was the same. In one panel he’s telling Sarada that he needs to hit him with another Rasengan and he won’t give up, and in the very next panel Uzuhiko’s already activated and he tells her he’s going to use it. He then begins to explain how it works. He needs to take in the planetary Chakra through BOTH feet (this is important). The more time he spends taking in the energy, the stronger the attack. There is no limit to the Uzuhiko’s power. And even though he’s charging it to kill Hidari in one blow, it’s already been activated and can be used whenever.
Why is it important to acknowledge that both feet need to be on the ground? Because pretty much as soon as he activates it against Code, he begins to walk towards him. And if you know anything about walking, you’d know both feet aren’t constantly on the ground. Meaning there was basically zero charge time and that Uzuhiko was as weak as it possibly could be. So it doesn’t need to be charged to be activated or used. And we saw the same thing this chapter. Boruto activates it, takes a step and attempts to release it on Code with no charge time.
Again the only thing that charging Uzuhiko does is increase its potency. Against Code, it basically didn’t do shit. Knocked him back a few feet but he was still able to land on his feet. Against Jura he had some more time to charge it. He had a couple of pages to talk and it did seem more powerful. The energy surrounding Boruto was more volatile and the blast of the Jutsu seemed a little bigger. But still, didn't do anything in terms of physical damage. Against Hidari, after activating it he had time to explain the Jutsu and had a few pages worth of Sarada and Konohamaru buying time before releasing it onto Hidari. And the results speak for themselves. Left this dude half a torso with a head and one arm even though he couldn’t charge it as long as he wanted to.
Despite the disparity of power between different charge times, one thing is certain. You will feel the effects if you get hit by it. Even with zero charge time and no real physical injury, Code felt the effects. And with a little more charge time, Jura did too even if he quickly dispelled them. I bring this up because whenever people bring up Boruto using Uzuhiko in a fight, they always say he has to charge it to use it. And as we’ve seen here, he really doesn’t. So long as he’s on the ground, he can activate it instantly. And once it’s activated, he can use it no matter how long it’s been charging for. And we’ve seen him walking without the energy dissipating. So as long as he stays on the ground, he keeps the energy he’s accumulated so far even if he’s stopped taking in more. You don’t even have to be hit by it to begin to feel the effects. If you even touch him like Code did, your equilibrium will be so fucked you can’t even hit him and from your perspective it’ll look like he’s dodging your every attack even while standing still. And if it hits, you literally feel like the world is spinning to the point you can’t even stand let alone fight. And if you can fly, no you can’t. Remember Code was feeling all this off the weakest Uzuhiko possible. This is assuming you can even tank the initial force of the attack. Even at the weakest level, Boruto was surprised Code was still standing. As much of a bozo L fraud as he is, Code is still physically powerful. Unless you have some sort of space-time ability, you ain’t escaping. At which point Boruto can charge up another Uzuhiko to the level that it will one-shot you, walk on over and barbeque your ass. And if you do somehow escape, if you can’t dissipate it yourself, the effects stick until the planet’s gone. Long story short, shit’s broken.
I think people are looking at Sarada’s Mangekyō problem way too small.
A lot of the discussion is basically “is she getting nerfed?” or “will Sakura/Hima/Amado fix her eyes?” but I don’t think Chapter 34 is setting up a quick fix. I think this is literally Sarada’s main TBV character trial.
Sarada finally has the power people wanted her to have. Ōhirume is not some regular power up. She can create those black gravity spheres, choose what gets pulled in, crush attacks, fly with it, and actually threaten Shinju level enemies. That’s insane for her scaling.
But the catch is also very Sarada specific: the stronger she becomes, the more her future as Hokage gets put at risk.
That’s why Chapter 34 lands different to me. Sakura checking Sarada’s eyes is not just a medical update. It’s the manga telling us Sarada’s dream has a cost now.
Chapter 21 already set this up perfectly. That whole chapter was basically Sarada accepting her feelings, thinking about her Hokage dream, and finally stepping out of the “protected by Boruto/Sasuke” role. She uses her Mangekyō, beats Ryū, and proves she can actually hang in this new era.
But immediately after that win, she collapses.
So the story gives her the power up and the penalty in the same chapter. That feels intentional.
Then Chapter 33 makes it even more obvious. Boruto is holding Sarada and he’s not just worried that she’s hurt. He’s worried that using Mangekyō is affecting her vision. Himawari heals the bleeding, but the eye problem doesn’t just disappear. That matters because it separates “battle damage” from “Mangekyō damage.”
And now Chapter 34 basically confirms it: this is not just fatigue. Her eyesight is actually getting worse.
So when people say “Sarada is being nerfed,” I kind of disagree. This feels less like a nerf and more like the start of her real mastery arc.
Sarada’s whole thing is wanting to become Hokage like Naruto, but she is still an Uchiha. That means her strongest power comes with the old Uchiha curse attached to it: love, trauma, sacrifice, and self destruction.
That’s what makes her different from Boruto and Kawaki. Boruto’s problem is fate. Kawaki’s problem is obsession. Sarada’s problem might be that her dream requires her to keep seeing the village clearly, while her power literally takes her sight away every time she uses it.
That’s honestly dark.
She wants to protect Boruto, protect the village, live up to Sasuke, and still become Hokage. But every serious use of Ōhirume puts her closer to blindness.
If she holds back, people can die.
If she goes all out, she damages her own future.
If Boruto saves her, people call her useless.
If she saves herself, people say she’s too strong.
If she suffers consequences, people call it a nerf.
That’s actually a good character conflict.
This also makes Sakura way more important than people are admitting. Sakura isn’t just there to say “your eyes are bad.” She is the one person who can understand all sides of this. She is Sarada’s mother, Sasuke’s wife, one of the best medical ninja alive, and probably the only person in Konoha who knows how ugly the Mangekyō path got for Sasuke and Itachi.
Sasuke is a tree right now. Naruto is gone. Kakashi is still MIA. Sakura is the adult who actually has to look Sarada in the face and decide whether to stop her, heal her, or trust her.
And I think Sakura trusting Sarada is the important part.
Because Sarada becoming Hokage can’t just be “Naruto but Uchiha.” Her arc has to prove she can inherit Uchiha power without repeating the tragic Uchiha pattern. Itachi protected the village by destroying himself. Sasuke protected people by isolating himself. Sarada has to find a third answer.
That’s why I don’t think the solution is as simple as “just give her EMS” or “Amado gives her cyborg eyes.” Maybe those options come up, but if the story just fixes her eyes instantly, then what was the point of making Sakura warn her in Chapter 34?
The real question should be whether Sarada can master Ōhirume in a way that doesn’t destroy her. Maybe using it more precisely lowers the drain. Maybe Sakura helps her develop better chakra control. Maybe Sasuke’s return ties into it. Maybe she has to learn a version of Mangekyō that doesn’t run on the usual Uchiha self sacrifice logic.
But either way, I don’t think this is just a temporary injury.
I think this is Sarada’s TBV trial.
She finally has the power to stand in the same battlefield as Boruto, Kawaki, and the Shinju. But every time she uses that power, she is gambling with the same dream that made her character important in the first place.
So yeah, Chapter 34 made Sarada’s future way darker than people realize.
Is Sarada being nerfed, or is this the start of her real mastery arc?
If you have seen the "anime vs manga" posts, you will realize how much care Sasuke showed to Sakura that was butchered in the anime, and I mean most of their moments.
In the Naruto radio segments (Oh! Naruto Nippon), Noriaki Sugiyama mentioned that he had to be very careful with his tone. Because he knew Sasuke would eventually return to the village and marry Sakura, he tried to ensure that Sasuke never sounded "purely evil" or "hateful" toward her, even when the dialogue was harsh.

The idea that people see Kawaki and Sarada as best friends despite Sarada's animosity towards him is really funny, lol
In TBV Chapter 33, Inojin, in the same room as Koji, secretly transmits their conversation to Amado and Sumire, revealing Koji's ability to them.
Amado thinks about how absurd the ability is and Sumire looks at his reaction, but nobody else who found out then mentions it.
In Chapter 34, Amado tells Kawaki to visit him at the lab. In an older chapter, Boruto said Amado was going to do something selfish.
Whatever Amado was going to do later might occur in Chapter 35, and that is probably the consequence of tampering with the future.
Hi all,
normally I dont have anything against it. But in every chapter, we have some panels where it is all about love. Sarada loving Boruto or Sumire. Eda loving Kawaki, Cho saying how hot Kawaki and Boruto are. Or Inojin loving Himawari. I get that love is a component of our life, but it is annoying me.
We have a monthly chapter and the topic takes to many panels. I prefer to have subtle love elements in such a manga, add it to the Anime, if we have to have that.
And I get Sarada loves Boruto, but do we have to know that in every chapter? I want to know more about Boruto, the divine trees and how this story is developing. I dont care right now about the love dramas.
I am pretty sure I figured it out
Sarada will start losing her sight, as a fix to this we will have Sasuke being forced to make another child with Sakura only for said child to be killed on birth in order to get Sarada EMS
They will make a child by making a hole in the tree, we will have a 9 month time skip, just read trough the lines is all foreshadowed…
will answer any question in the comments.
This guy is a loser, it feels like he is a gimmick character 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Man i had high hopes from him, in the end he will join Boruto and kawaki
Do you think Boruto will include other clones Like: Obito, Madara and Itachi? Orochimaru is still there.
Since Ryu, Matsuri, and Mamushi are gone, Hidari is the next natural target before the story gets to Jura, and Sarada will likely be the one to take him out. But the problem is: the post-timeskip scene hints that both Naruto and Sasuke will stay out of the story until the very end. Since a Thorn Soul Bulb rots within minutes, it’s impossible to keep Sasuke benched that long without it killing him. The writer obviously can’t kill Sasuke off in such a pathetic way, so how do they keep him out of the story until the end?
The answer is Kawaki's timeless dimension. The moment Hidari is defeated, Kawaki could seal his Thorn Soul Bulb in his dimension where time doesn't flow, stopping it from rotting away. This lets Kawaki keep Sasuke locked up until the endgame, just like he did with Naruto. He has a few great reasons to do this, too: either to protect Sasuke because he knows how much he means to Naruto, or just to use the bulb as ultimate leverage against Boruto and Sarada.
The consequences: Jura would absolutely not let Hidari die, and try retrieving his Thorn Soul Bulb like he already did once before. That would make Kawaki one of his main targets alongside Boruto. This would lead to Boruto and Kawaki forming an even stronger alliance, because Boruto cannot let Kawaki die, or he'll lose both his parents and his master in the Daikokuten dimension forever. And Kawaki cannot let Boruto die, because he alone isn't strong enough to protect himself against Jura.
saw this panel in the latest chapter and was confused as to why sakura just screamed oh yeah, seemed really off putting. later cho cho and sarada admit to not knowing what it means, is sakura supposed to be saying shannaro but it got translated?
Even though it has been mentioned that the Thorn Bulb would only last a few minutes before it disintegrate in to nothingness the past example with Shinki's and Moegi's Thorn Bulbs proved otherwise. Realistically, there's no way Araya could carry the Thorn Bulb alongside Yodo in the in the middle of the desert and reach Sunagakure in just a few minutes (unless, of course it somehow happened through reverse summoning behind the scene), and the same thing also apply to Moegi's Thorn Bulb having to endured longer than a few minutes due to the party's scuffle with Jura.
This only means one thing; Shinki's and Moegi's souls are stronger (unlike Bug's) therefore their Thorn Bulbs can last much longer even long after their Shinju have been defeated, it's just a theory of mine, though. What do you think?
I went through the recent TV Tokyo investor materials and there are some surprisingly bullish signals for the future of the Naruto/Boruto franchise.
NARUTO/BORUTO is repeatedly described as a key global growth IP.
TV Tokyo consistently treats Naruto and Boruto as one connected franchise ecosystem.
Overseas Naruto/Boruto games and licensing revenue are performing strongly.
The company is heavily focused on global expansion and anime monetization.
2027 aligns with Naruto’s 25th anniversary AND Boruto anime’s 10th anniversary.
None of this directly confirms a Boruto anime return, but from a business standpoint, it’s hard to imagine TV Tokyo aggressively investing into the Naruto/Boruto brand globally without eventually bringing the anime back in a major way.
Listen borusumi fans your ship has sunk before even sailing so don't be jealous and vote a no.
Now personally I think it would definitely happen bcz the main arc is based on borusara vs hidari and we can even see in first chapter of this arc there are some moments where we can see their relationship becoming more central.
