Interesting things from TV Tokyo’s new Boruto/Naruto investor reports

I went through the recent TV Tokyo investor materials and there are some surprisingly bullish signals for the future of the Naruto/Boruto franchise.

  1. NARUTO/BORUTO is repeatedly described as a key global growth IP.

  2. TV Tokyo consistently treats Naruto and Boruto as one connected franchise ecosystem.

  3. Overseas Naruto/Boruto games and licensing revenue are performing strongly.

  4. The company is heavily focused on global expansion and anime monetization.

  5. 2027 aligns with Naruto’s 25th anniversary AND Boruto anime’s 10th anniversary.

None of this directly confirms a Boruto anime return, but from a business standpoint, it’s hard to imagine TV Tokyo aggressively investing into the Naruto/Boruto brand globally without eventually bringing the anime back in a major way.

Tento arc is one of the best in manga. I love it so much. It is the most underrated part of Boruto's story.

Why is our fandom so impatient? Others have waited longer for their anime, so why are we the only ones causing such a drama? Just be patient, the studio will do its best.

Finally, they are already starting to invest in anime and marketing for Boruto. That's the good news.

A message from the first writer of the Boruto manga. Let's thank him for preparing this world for Boruto's big story! Mikio Ikemoto has taken the baton and continues to develop the world further!

I think we should seriously consider turning this into a Boruto-only subreddit, similar to how the Legend of Korra community separated itself from the main Avatar fandom.

Yes, both stories exist in the same universe. But being connected lore-wise does not automatically mean they function as the same series, attract the same audience, or even explore the same themes.

Boruto is different by design.

Boruto is about inheritance, technological evolution, identity crises, artificial power, alien influence, generational pressure, destiny versus free will, and living in a peaceful era created by someone else's suffering. The tone is colder, more psychological, more sci-fi, and much more focused on existential threats and personal alienation than on classic “never give up” themes.

A lot of conflicts in this fandom happen because people constantly judge Boruto for not being naruto 2. That expectation alone poisons almost every discussion.

You see it everywhere: “Why aren’t they doing more ninja missions?” “Why is technology important now?” “Why are the fights different?” “Why is the atmosphere different?” “Why doesn’t Boruto act like naruto?”

Because it is not trying to be naruto again. And honestly, it shouldn’t.

The Legend of Korra fandom went through something very similar. Eventually, communities understood that constantly mixing both fandoms led to endless comparison wars instead of actual discussion about the series itself. Once Korra got its own space, people could finally discuss its themes, characters, politics, flaws, and strengths without every conversation turning into “but ATLA did it better.”

Boruto needs that same breathing room.

Even visually and structurally, Boruto feels like a separate franchise now. The timeskip amplified this even more. The designs, pacing, themes, cinematography, and atmosphere are moving further away from classic naruto every year. And that is okay.

A Boruto-only approach would not mean “hating naruto” or pretending naruto doesn’t exist. naruto would still be part of the history and foundation of the world. But discussion focus matters.

Just like:

  • Korra communities focus on Korra
  • Better Call Saul communities focus on BCS despite - Breaking Bad existing
  • House of the Dragon communities focus on HOTD instead of constantly looping back to GOT

Boruto deserves to stand on its own legs instead of permanently living inside naruto discourse.

Because at some point, if every conversation about a sequel is forced to orbit around the original forever, the sequel never gets the chance to develop its own identity in the eyes of the fandom.

And ironically, I think separating the discussions more would actually reduce toxicity for both sides. naruto fans could enjoy naruto-focused content without constantly seeing Boruto debates, and Boruto fans could discuss the current manga/anime without every thread becoming a nostalgia civil war.

The 10th anniversary MASTERLISE -OUTSIDE- Boruto figure is not a normal retail release. It’s an “all applicants service” tied directly to V-Jump, and the application period ends on May 21st.

After that? Gone.

No overseas shipping. No regular store release announced. No guarantee Bandai or Shueisha will ever make another TBV Boruto figure at this scale and quality again.

This isn’t even pre-timeskip Boruto. This is the FIRST official TWO BLUE VORTEX figure ever made.

23cm tall, Ikemoto-style design, anniversary edition, limited application window.

Deadline: May 21, 2026.
