Canon Near Is only broken in rsn and even has a big antifeats in that.like not understanding that mikami behaving inpulsively by killing Someone in public would be a trap since It completely contradicts his profile or him and would also backfire Kira if It wasnt planned.

His last Plan could have failed without Mello he underestimated light at the point that he toughts that his only strategy was coming there and tell mikami tò kill everyone

How can people Stil scale him around nagumo or takuya Is beyond me let the tsubaki rival First get pass the Class Leaders(spoiler he gets stomped by all of them)

Already talked about honami here

I already talked about honami in another post but in case you didn't see It.

Her feats are often exxagerated and enbelished by the author of her doc.they use even the smallest and most insignifact things tò make up new feat for examples her supposedely acting depressed in y2v7,y2v8 or her manipulating nagumo and cc.

She Is also really glazed by the cote reddit community for no actual reason wich can be seen as One of the causes.currently the only reason that would make her above the other Two Leaders, Is ryuen and suzune mental states not her being way superior tò them especialy when they both gap her horribely in half Major categories.

When y2v12 and y2v12.5 came out people started glazing the shi out of her and started tò glaze every actions She would make from then One even if some of them are really basic.

She Is broken in planning but mid in strategy.

Her manipulation Is not as broken and Is also exxagerated.for examples they use ryuen bad felling during his conversation with honami in y2v9 as a proff that honami was phsichologically exploiting ryuen trauma and was using his fear for koji as a facade at the point that She completely immiteted koji personality so tò instal fear in ryuen thing that would mean that honami knows alot about the x arc despite deducing only few things.

They alsi like tò make many headcanons around her.

Like in y2v10 She supposedely could have destroyed suzune Class but decided tò spare them even if suzune Class kept countering and predicting their choices both before and After they Alliance got revealed.

Or that She manipulated all suzune classmates including suzune herself via her rumor mills .

Evidence ?? Idk.

The only victim of her rumor mills in suzune Class that i recall Is kei.

Plus there Is the whole debate around the promised night Who Is AN eccellent trap but koji wasnt a complete victim subjugated by honami all the time like her fans want tò describe It .he was pretty much aware and forsee almost everthing that happened that night maybe except the bombayah .

I generelly put her in par with other Leaders but i don't see any big gap that would put her even a tier above the others .

Smart characters to the general public

I mean, I definitely expected to see answers like this but I still somehow feel disappointed...

And when you try to talk to them, they say something like: "But can they invent inter-dimensional travel?"

Hey, is that all it takes to impress you?!

Tablet Feat doesn’t exist

The scale of fabrication has never been this high before. In order to upscale Takuya Yagami, the so‑called "Tablet Feat" was crafted. The motivation for this feat supposedly comes from this passage (Y2V4):

>"It certainly seems like a second year student is sabotaging them, but if it is ...... who ... will it be."
Yagami took the liberty of touching the tablet and trying to check the details.
"Hey, get out of my way."
"What?"
"I allow you to be here because you are one of us, but I don't remember allowing you to take it without permission."
Yagami takes a step back, while looking into her eyes full of intensity.

Based on this brief quote, they claimed:

>First, it’s important to get a solid range of how long Takuya held the tablet, as we can see from this scan of Y2V4’s OTL <…> as soon as Takuya grabs the tablet, Tsubaki pushes him away reflexively in a way that prohibits him from seeing the rest of the tablet, as we see in literally the next page where Tsubaki is shown with Takuya nowhere in image which implies that he’s quite a distance away from her now after taking an additional step back for measure <…>. This means that the ONLY time he can see the tablet is the moment where he can grab the tablet for a brief moment from the information we can extrapolate. The average human reaction time for visual stimuli is ~.25 seconds, so it’s most logical to interpret this as the lowball for Takuya holding the tablet being ~.5 seconds, and the higher interpretation, and honestly the most fluid interpretation would be for it to be just about ~.25 seconds. <…>
Now that we’ve established how long Takuya held the tablet, we need to explain how exactly Takuya would anticipate Kitou’s route and speed through the tablet. I suggest reading Takuya Document’s Cross Year War Strategy for better prior context, but to summarize at this point of holding the tablet, Takuya would have been deducing that Arisu was the leader of the Second Years and thus she would be sending someone with specific stats and qualifications to intercept the First Years. Through a series of multiple inferences, he would anticipate that the person she needed to send out was Kitou; I won’t be explaining more of that feat as anything more is not necessary to judge the FSIQ Takuya employs here.
Now that Takuya knows that Kitou will try to thwart them, he needs to anticipate his route and speed to intercept him through some means. In order to do this, Takuya needs to:
1. Filter out irrelevant and extraneous third-year and first-year GPS signals currently on the data, isolating the key second-year signatures. As we know in Y2V1, there are 156 students in the Second Year Class, and if we apply that number to First Years and Third Years, then there should be ~450-500 students currently on the Island, which means that Takuya was manipulating the information in his mind of 450-500 GPS signals while procedurally canceling them all out WHILE doing more complex deductions is insane. Attentional filtering of this magnitude requires outstanding WMI and PSI to hold all the data in mind while simultaneously identifying and segmenting relevant points.
2. Simultaneously, he also needed to visualize the island, running 3D simulations of the people within it in order to get the best idea of where students are currently located. Similar, but faster to what Arisu did on the Island. According to Ayanokoji’s words in Y2V3 <…> the Island is divided into 100 sections of 500mx700m areas. Through simple conversions, this means that the Island is about 35km^2 in terms of area. You could probably shave off 7km^2 of that though because some parts consist of water which you don’t have to visualize for this feat necessarily. Regardless, this is absolutely broken VSI.
3. Scan these hundreds of names while performing complex deductions about Arisu's strategy, and successfully picking out the name "Hayato Kitou." Recognizing a single GPS signal among a vast stream of information demonstrates incredible PSI.
4. Extract spatial relationships between the GPS markers and his current location using this to predict optimal routes between locations. This entails maintaining the visualization of the map of the entire island and geometrically plotting multiple moving points to create an expected mental route of Kitou’s route and speed. He would also have to account for Kitou's path as he would move at constantly differing rates of change. This is a complicated Calculus situation that requires ungodly levels of spatial reasoning, differentiating Kitou's speed from a slightly moving GPS signal and perfectly visualizing the best path for him to take while constantly running the 3D simulations in your head, while maintaining information the whole map of the island is simply incredible, and seemingly impossible. Amazing VSI & CPI.

Some people tried to expand the timeframe or reduce the visualized area. Poor souls. They were so fixated on this one episode that they forgot everything else.

The author deliberately wrote a scene where Takuya was holding his classmate's tablet with the same box as Kiyo's. That means he had at least two tablets (that one + his own).

>Saying this, Yagami extends one of the tablets.
"What is this?"
“I borrowed it from a group of my friends from class B, first year. Because the owner of this table is in the same square as Ayanokouji-senpai.

But maybe he didn't actually use them, huh? Let's take a closer look…

>"Can I talk to you, Tsubaki-san?
"...... what?"
In the distance, Yagami, who is also handling a tablet, looks back.
“'Wouldn't it be possible to corner Ayakoji-senpai with more detailed instructions? It seems like a bit of a tedious progression. "
"It's so depressing." Tsubaki decideded to ignore it, saying it in a whisper that Yagami couldn't hear.
After another 30 minutes or so, the problems appeared. Because the three groups that ordered to advance north from C4 had barely moved.

Again

>In the distance, Yagami, who is also handling a tablet, looks back.

Again

>Yagami, who is also handling a tablet

Again

>also handling a tablet

Why on earth would he be holding a tablet if not to use the GPS search? Was he just staring at his own position the whole time? And if he already had his own tablet, why would he even need Tsubaki's then?

Next point, just common sense. It's genuinely baffling how some people can't visualize real‑world scenarios. Let's pretend for a second that Takuya didn't use his own tablet and instead used Tsubaki's to locate Kito, as the doc claims. Now try using your own tablet or computer: take a screenshot of your entire town map and try to find a specific shop. You probably won't be able to, because the scale is far too large. You'd need to zoom in and then locate the shop.

Now apply that to the story's map: there are ~450 students + dozens of tasks. Is all of that information perfectly displayed on the tablet screen so that Takuya wouldn't need to zoom in on individual points and names? Did none of them overlapped? Or did Tsubaki conveniently zoom in on the right area, so Takuya could instantly recognize all the relevant positions? How incredibly convenient that would be.

And this isn't just my speculation. Kinugasa explicitly stated that Kiyo used zoom‑in and zoom‑out functions to track students. Because it's a tablet, not a 4K cinema screen, for god's sake.

>誰かにメッセージを送ったり、写真を送ったりすることは試験中出来ない。だが自らのタブレット画面を保存することは標準の機能で当然備わっている。保存した地図を繰り返し拡大縮小することで全生徒の位置を細かく記録として残しておくことが可能だ。
During the exam, sending messages or photos to anyone is not permitted. However, saving the screen of one's own tablet is naturally provided as a standard function. By repeatedly zooming in and out on the saved map, it is possible to leave behind detailed records of all the students' positions.

You know, sometimes people really need to step outside and touch grass instead of engaging in dry theorizing. Perhaps if they actually did something in the real world, they'd stop pretending that everything fits their expectations so perfectly. It's painful, but reality can be cruel.

Conclusion

Does anyone seriously believe now that Yagami would grab Tsubaki's tablet for a 0.5‑second glance at student positions, rather than using his own tablet, which he had been holding for hours?

This is likely the lowest level of reading comprehension, the most blatant dishonesty, and the most disrespectful and biased "feat" I've ever seen.

Zhuge Liang vs Fyodor but Normal Scaling

Since this is normal scaling we also gotta take all the narrative and statements into account obviously.

Fyodor [ Bungo Stray Dogs Manga ]

Zhuge Liang [ The Ravages of Time + Three Kingdoms Romance ]

-FSIQ: Fyodor,

(via conversation with Dazai in meresault, killing Ace and various other unrealistic fsiq feats. Fyodor easily takes.)

-Overall EQ: Fyodor

-Overall SQ: Fyodor

(Modern societies are much more complex than past societies. Both Fyodor and Zhuge Liang perfectly navigated, understood and instigated several social groups but I'll give it to Fyodor since modern is more sophisticated)

-Overall AC: Fyodor

-Thinking: Equal maybe

-Reasoning: Zhuge Liang

(Very Easily)

-Strategy: Zhuge Liang

(Easily takes this from Fyodor)

-Planning: Zhuge Liang

(Fyodor's is a much much longer plan, but when you think about it, those plans can be summed up into key steps. In which Zhuge Liang will win.)

-Manipulation: Fyodor maybe

-Deception: Zhuge Liang

-Foresight: Zhuge Liang🥶

-Tactical Prowess: Zhuge Liang

(Showed way better tactical plays)

-Game Theory: Zhuge Liang

-Adaptability: Idk

Fixed Situations: Fyodor Mid Diffs

Non-Fixed Situations: Zhuge Liang Low-Mid Diffs

Cat and Mouse: Fyodor High Diffs

Warfare Situations: Zhuge Liang idk diff

Economic: Zhuge Liang High diff

Winner: Zhuge Liang, High(???) Difficulty

Yes, Zhuge Liang is also cracked in Normal and Narrative Scaling.

Methodology Scaling: Zhuge Liang Low Diffs(-)

Marinette vs Minoru Tanaka

Yeah, so... I've been doing edits for a while now, but I'm still pretty bad at them.

Anyway, this take is serious and I really stand by it, by the way. Sorry about the mid edit 😭

u/Extreme-Market-6141 — 1 day ago

It's been a whole year so let's see if there are any changes to the grid now that we know about many more stories. Which series is low tier in normal scaling and low tier in pure methodology?

Pure Methodology Categories (examples):

Methodological Complexity (highest importance), Rigour Maintenance Relative to Complexity (very high importance), Strategic Creativity (high importance), Insightfulness (important), Theory of Mind (important).

Normal Scaling is "how smart the character is story-wise."

Normal Scaling and Pure Methodology are basically OPPOSITES. One scales the intelligence of the characters story-wise, and the other evaluates the explicit methods of the characters' feats from a perspective detached from the story (non-diegetically).

Thinking of it another way, Normal Scaling is a narrative evaluation and Pure Methodology is a game-theoretical evaluation.

Voting Rules:

Highest upvote count + (( total comment count ) multiplied by 2)

Vote for a SERIES rather than a character.

If there is a draw, I might just put 2 series in 1 box or use a tie breaker.

Each spot will have around 1 day of voting time.

Current Vote: Which series is low tier in both Normal Scaling and Pure Methodology?

Kiruma Souichi's best strategies

what are his best strategies in manga and could he clear Aki and Toua in strategy?

Akane Kurashiki (Zero Time Dilemma) VS Kanade Otonokoji (SDRA2) | Correcting Leonid's take

Intelligence/Cognition: Akane
Theory of Mind: Akane
Self Management: Akane
Systems Thinking: Akane
Reasoning: Akane
Foresight: Akane
Strategy: Akane
Planning: Akane
Manipulation: Akane
Deception: Akane
Creativity: Akane
Decision Making: Akane
Tactical Prowess: Akane
Adaptability: Akane
Multi-agent Complexity: Akane
Asymmetric Leverage: Akane
Higher Strengths: Akane
Less Weaknesses: Akane
Framework: Akane

Winner: Akane
Difficulty: None

Justification: ZTD Akane's scheme by itself already deals with a multitude of different timelines causally affecting other timelines in a very non-linear fashion. She easily controlled the actions of half a dozen individuals and facilitated their emotions to the point of being able to accurately control their consciousnesses jumps through time. All the while she framed herself as a victim of it all while shifting the blame to Delta, keeping their relationship with each other masked as well, this goes deeper than you think because if this act slipped up for ONE instant then it's highly possible that any Esper that witnessed it from one timeline can hypothetically remember that instance in another timeline, even if you killed them later.

In short, ZTD Akane's scheme dealt with far higher multi-agent complexity, had better coverage and masking as well as ultimately accomplishing a lot grander of a goal compared to Kanade (she both caused and prevented an apocalypse that kills 6 billion people).

No Diff matchups aren't fun, hence why it makes no sense to compare Akane to anyone below Dazai level lol. If somehow someone thinks I'm wrong here then I'd love to hear any reason why

My controversial tier lists of SCD characters I've watched or consumed.

JoJo characters can be higher and lower (I should rescale them ngl)

Rick & Evil Morty could be lower.

Shirube should be a C ngl (I forgot)

For Sans, I use the Anomaly feat + statements (So he could go higher)

Anais > Harimoto easily. I forgot to change her.

Dipper > Doof tbh.

Mello is odd to scale. Can be lower against Horikita.

Junko should be higher as well but I forgot her feats (and lowkey I have a bias against her, not because I hate women, it's just that Junko is fucking annoying)

I admit I have never read it but genuinely what does he do? Only feat i have seen that he somehow manipulated folk into thinking he's god or smth (I made the text)

enough time has passed, the REAL best consultant (full, semi-detailed breakdown PJ vs Elementary Holmes)

Don't see a lot of love for my boy Sherlock (Elementary) on here, hopefully I can do him justice. Best portrayed and written, and one of the smartest detective consultants on television.

Cognitive - Sherlock Mid-High Diff

FSIQ - Sherlock

Shown more knowledge of all areas of science (including soft sciences) during investigations. Able to apply scientific knowledge to his cases, intelligence is well-shown, no asspulls unlike a certain BBC Sherlock.

WMI - Sherlock

PSI - Sherlock

Sherlock's version of the "memory palace" is both more rooted and complex than PJ's. Both have demonstrated great feats in short term memory but the reason I give WMI and PSI to Sherlock is because he has shown higher highs in regards to processing information from many different sources and retaining said information (see: "View From Olympus", "The Long Fuse")

VCI - Sherlock

Shown to pick up languages faster, able to decipher codes much more easily. Dabbles in conlangs

VSI - PJ

PJ, by virtue of being a mentalist, demonstrates more situational awareness and casing. This is not to say Sherlock's VSI isn't high, but admittedly he has been caught off guard in regards to spatial information.

FRI - CGEW (I have Sherlock by a hair)

Sherlock's line of reasoning is more sophisticated than Patrick Jane's in respects to gathering of evidence and the rhetorical work done to said evidence. However, Patrick Jane can solve most Sherlock cases, and visa versa.

Emotional - Patrick Jane High-Mid Diff

EP - PJ

EU - PJ

Despite conventional truisms, throughout Elementary Sherlock is shown to be able to read people to a T, matching PJ. However, PJ can be faster and showcases a deeper understanding of his own emotions.

EF - CGEW (I have PJ by a hair)

Both men can use emotional tells to guide them successfully to their goal. PJ has slightly higher proficiency in this.

EM - PJ

I mean Sherlock was on drugs, one of his narrative journeys in Elementary is recovering and learning to handle himself better.

Social Intelligence - PJ Extreme Diff

Social Cognition - CGEW (one of their most evenly matched categories)

Both Sherlock and PJ shows a deep understanding of social cues and how to use them to their advantage. However, both goes about using the social situation in different way.

Social Integration - PJ

Both Sherlock and PJ are shown to abrasive in their shows but PJ can dial up the charm when he wants do, Sherlock powers through it via breaking the situation.

Adversary Capacity - Sherlock Mid-High Diff

Both has shown great feats in all categories when acting as and facing against an adversary. I gave Sherlock this category by virtue of Moriarty being a much daunting rival than Red John (let me know if you want to see this scaling for this matchup). Yes, Red John killed PJ's family but Moriarty has inflicted similar emotional wounds (she didn't kill his family cuz Sherlock doesn't give a shit about his biological family), while being in much closer proximity to Sherlock and taking on more risks. Similarly, Sherlock works much closer to his antagonists in most episodes and proves to be a more difficult opponent than PJ, whose opponents are mostly fodder.

Ownership - Sherlock

Reach - Sherlock

Reach - Sherlock

Endurance - PJ

General Intelligence - Sherlock Mid-Diff

Crystalized - Sherlock

He just knows more about more disciplines.

Fluid - Sherlock

Has shown a better capacity of taking in information and processing it in different ways.

Observation - Sherlock High Diff

Visual - Sherlock

Can take in much more from more sources

Auditory - PJ

Sherlock's senses have been addled to a small degree by drugs. PJ is able to pay more attention to audio

Proxy-receptive Observation - Sherlock

SLAMS via his Irregulars (network of experts at different fields that are employed by him) as well as Watson

Foresight - Sherlock High Diff

Anticipation - Sherlock

Has shown to be more prepared for different scenarios. Rarely caught off guard. This is not to say that PJ does not shown great feats in this category as well, Sherlock just does it more often and in more complex situations.

Prediction - Sherlock

Preclusion, Obviation - CGEW (irrelevant)

By the nature of both shows, this category does not have much feats about it as they need events to happen in order to have an episode.

Manipulation - Patrick Jane Mid Diff

Direct - PJ

Indirect - PJ

The show IS called the Mentalist for a reason.

Logical - Sherlock

Consistently subdues and guides more difficult adversaries through his sheer demonstrations of intellect (see: "All in the Family")

Emotional - PJ

Methods - PJ

Deception - CGEW (I have Patrick Jane by a hair)

Misdirection - PJ

Fabrication - Sherlock

Sherlock has spun up ruses more that are more elaborate and harder to disprove than PJ in shorter amounts of time. He learned from the best (Moriarty).

Sophistry - CGEW

PJ has more charm and is able to lull his opponents. Sherlock overwhelms someone enough through his intellect that they are inclined to believe him.

Acting - PJ

Concealment - Sherlock

Sherlock has demonstrated active ways that he keeps things hidden, both in physical reality (eg. hidden notes, cameras, scattered around his house while presenting it as slovenly) and in conversation. PJ is good at concealment but Sherlock is better in more fields.

Reasoning - Sherlock Extreme Diff

Deductive - Sherlock

Logic is Sherlock's wheelhouse and he shows a better mastery of it throughout his episodes than PJ does in his.

Inductive - PJ

PJ makes extreme leaps sometimes, but most of the times his reasoning is true and it works out. Sherlock falls behind in generalization.

Deductive - Sherlock (not CGEW close, but very close)

Sherlock's own mastery of many fields comes into play here. It is much easier for him to make inferences based on inconclusive results because he has more ways to interpret said results.

Psychology - Sherlock Low-High Diff

Theory of Mind - Sherlock

Psychoanalysis - Sherlock

Profiling - CGEW (I have Sherlock by a hair)

Pysch Techniques - Sherlock

More knowledge of soft sciences, has put its principles to use more times than Patrick Jane, who sometimes can be reliant on the narrative fact "oooh I'm a mentalist I can read you". Sherlock can read people do, and he is shown to be more adept at it (see: " The Adventure of the Nutmeg Concoction", "M", The One that Got Away", "Just a Regular Irregular", "The Marchioness" among others)

Reading - PJ

Conditioning - PJ

Patrick Jane has more instances of putting these categories to use for his work. Sherlock isn't as reliant on them

Adaptability - Sherlock Mid Diff

Input - Sherlock

Output - Sherlock

Has been put in more perilous and difficult situations (physically and mentally) than PJ, Was able to navigate through them well (see: "All in the Family", "Paint it Black)

/////

Overall: Sherlock Holmes Extreme-High Diff

Something to note, I did not include all categories in my analysis, but rather the most important and pertinent ones to this matchup. Thank you for reading! <3

^(PS: What I mean by stuff like "Mid-High Diff" is the win on the mid end of high difficulty category. Therefore, "High-Mid Diff"" means it is on the high end of the mid difficulty category. When I use hyphenated phrases like "Mid-High Diff" it does not mean that it is middle to high difficulty.)

Agenda Corner: People need to STOP talking about BBC Sherlock. He is a narrative fraud and his feats aren't worth analyzing. The writers for the show suck, Elementary better Sherlock Holmes shows. Watson for Elementary is the BEST Watson adaptation from any media.
