Did asta....

Did asta skip being a captain? Last i remember he was a senior magic knight in the lucious fight, and after that arc ended we just see Wizard King asta during the 2 year time skip. Correct me on this if im wrong, I probably read some bad scans but I searched it up if asta ever became a captain prior to wizard king and it just came out as blank and since nacht takes over as captain when yami resign to marry Charlotte.

Was asta a captain during the final Yuno fight? Since aside from Lumiere, who started it, weve seen only seen captains become wizard kings. (I dont remember any of the movie wizard kings explanation on whether they were a captain prior or was just chosen due to being strong as fuck) and conrad was a captain for the white servant Knight squad prior to being king, same as Julius, and its very implied that captains are the ones nominated to be one. (I cant remember properly but I remember something about vangeance, Pre elf reveal, was the closest to becoming WK)

I’m so sad because I don’t have the same spark for black clover as I did 5 years ago

So as we all know, Black Clover ended in early 2021 and for some background about me, that’s when I was 16 and about to turn 17. I’m 22 now. I had to have been one of the BIGGEST fans of the anime for years up to that point and even a year or two after it ended. I had posters all over my room, car stickers, profile pictures, etc. Black Clover was like the main thing in my life for all of high school, but as the anime ended and I went through college, my love for it slowly faded.

It's honestly kind of bittersweet seeing my favorite series from back then making a comeback. The community's hype and support are so positive, but I just can't feel that same spark I used to. I mean, it's even in Fortnite now! Fortnite and Black Clover were literally all I did during my last couple of years of high school. If Fortnite had dropped a Black Clover skin back then, I probably would've made five different accounts and bought the bundle on each one lmao. I had a little high school job and spent every extra dollar I had on either Black Clover or Fortnite, so there’s zero chance I wouldn't have.

But now I’m 22, graduated college, and have a job in data engineering. I still love anime, but I realized I haven’t actually watched a shonen in quite some time. Nowadays I’ve mostly been watching seinen and fantasy. My favorite right now is Mushoku Tensei. I actually watched it back in 2021 when it released and thought it was kinda meh, but I picked it up again over the summer and now it’s my favorite piece of fiction because of the main character’s growth and how relatable he can be especially relating to the hard times he goes through and that he also dealt relatable topics with like depression, shutting in etc etc, all stuff that I’ve dealt with only after high school. I know there’s some terrible nasty stuff in that story, but please don’t turn this into a debate about ethics in fiction. I’m just saying what I’ve been enjoying recently and would like to stay on the topic of black clover.

I tried watching Black Clover again, but Im just having such a hard time to get that same level of hype I had as a teenager. It sucks because all this stuff would’ve made me so happy back then, and now I just want to feel that same feeling but it’s just not there like it used to be and it’s really bumming me down. I’m wondering if anyone else can relate.

Thats what my girlfriend said, not only that but theres more. They slimmed asta teeth, then liebe is like wtf, while they both make out sloppy, specially with someone i hated the most. Devil king is like never have i ever in a billion years, have someone kissed me for the first time. Then they kissed again, tongue tied with one another, asta tasted the devil's tongue to be filled with the blood, the devil king had to endure whatever asta ate that day. Why wouldn't sister lily hate asta? She's a nun and asta is a devil. Idk why my gf though of that, is this another lvl of larping? 😭

I think Asta’s annoyingness is actually great.

I know it is considered the top reason for the Black Clover hate, but it really forces the rest of the characters to show something about themselves (and sure, Naruto did it first), which takes a lot of the focus from Asta and turns it to the rest of the group.

And because Black Clover has a ton of characters who not only exist, but learn and grow, Asta is sort of the background plot device, keeping things from ever getting stale (which is generally good in a battle anime).

Also, don’t y‘all know some annoying motherfuckers? I sure do! But seeing someone be annoyingly determined and positive (again, sure Naruto did it first) is sort of sweet in a silly way.
