Jack's Final Slash Spell has Causal Permeance?

Before Jack died, he unleashed his Final Slash that extending a cut for kilometers across the Clover Kingdom. The attack was powerful enough to carve a massive scar across the Country.

More importantly, Morgen himself acknowledged the lethality of the attack. He stated that if Jack's slash had actually hit him, he would have died. This should be taken literally rather than being dismissed as simple battle dialogue because Jack's final attack was portrayed as something capable of killing Morgen outright.

Later, Julius used his Time Magic to reverse the destruction caused by Lucius and restore the Clover Kingdom. People who had been killed were restored, and the damage throughout the kingdom was reversed.

Yet Jack's massive slash remained.

This is the crucial part. If Julius was capable of reversing the destruction of the Clover Kingdom on such a massive scale, then the fact that the enormous rift created by Jack's Final Slash remained afterward is significant. It suggests that the effect of Jack's slash isn't simply ordinary physical damage that can be erased by reverting the affected area to an earlier state.

Instead, Jack's Final Slash appears to have left a lasting alteration to the environment that persisted even after Julius's time/temporal restoration.

This also fits with what Jack's Slash Magic has demonstrated previously. His blades aren't restricted to cutting ordinary physical matter, they can adapt to and cut through different types of magic, including phenomena such as gravity and spatial magic. His Final Slash represents the culmination of that ability on an enormous scale.

So the argument isn't merely that “Jack has a really strong attack.” The more interesting interpretation is that his Final Slash produces an effect that persists beyond the normal consequences of the attack, potentially even resisting time/temporal restoration.

TL;DR

Morgen explicitly treated Jack's Final Slash as lethal, saying that he would have died if it hit him. On top of that, Julius later reversed the Clover Kingdom's destruction with Time Magic, yet the enormous rift created by Jack's Final Slash remained. This gives Jack's Final Slash a strong argument for an effect that persists beyond temporal restoration, supporting resistance to time reversal and potentially “causal permanence.”

Why I think Lucius Zogratis has Layered +2 and Immunity on All the Magic he possess while his Time Aspect "surpasses" that

Because first, Supreme Devils naturally have a Layer +1 tier of magical power because their attributes operate on a conceptual level, completely transcending the physical laws that govern normal mages. According to the official Black Clover guidebook, a Supreme Devil like Beelzebub actively alters the rules of space and transcends his normal and base counterpart (such as Langris’s Spatial Magic). This conceptual dominance is perfectly demonstrated by abilities like "Spatial Mana Domination" which allows him to effortlessly command all ambient mana within an area and instantly suffocate a base mage's spells. In addition to manipulating the literal concepts of reality rather than just physical elements, their magic inherently possesses a layer of absolute authority that overpowers any normal, base-level magic counterpart. Through this interpretation of Beelzebub's Transcendent Spatial Magic, and by applying this logic to other Supreme Devils based on their ability to affect concepts, characters like Lilith and Naamah are also firmly established at a Layer +1 tier above regular Ice and Fire magic.

Next is how Lucius made himself and his Paladins Layer +2

By capturing Supreme Devils and using his Soul Magic to purify their raw, malice energy, Lucius created a Layer +2 tier of power authority that transcends the rules of the magic system. Under normal circumstances, human mages are strictly bottlenecked and bound by the natural laws of the BC universe, they are locked into a single elemental attribute and limited by standard human mana pools. Lucius completely bypasses this boundary by stacking the purified, concept-warping magic and magical power of a Supreme Devil directly on top of a human host’s innate magic. The reality of this evolution is proven by Morris, who explicitly stated his goal was to achieve a higher-dimensional existence, a transcendent state he successfully attained only after receiving Lucius’s power. This achievement confirms that Paladin magic is not just a linear spike in mana volume, but is a higher-dimensional, multi-attribute fusion that pairs human skill with the power of a purified devil. Free from the constraints of both species (Devil and Humans), a Paladin’s magical output and spell authority operate on a distinct mechanical plane that sits precisely two full tiers above any standard Magic Knight.

Lucius possesses Layered +3 Time Immunity and +4 Foresight unlike the usual +2 immunity gained from his layered +2 attributes

The final war provides a clear look at this during the clash between Yuno and Lucius, showing how different layers of time manipulation and physical immunities interact on a conceptual level. When Yuno activates his Mana Zone: Never-neverland, he unleashes Layer +3 Time Manipulation that completely halts the flow of time within his dome, allowing him to successfully freeze and shut down Lucius's passive Layer +2 Time Magic and render his primary time ability completely useless. However, despite Yuno achieving this total environmental freeze, Lucius's body does not stop moving. This occurs because Lucius engineered his own physical form and his paladins to possess a Layer +3 Time Immunity, perfectly matching Yuno's time-stop potency so that his physical movements remain completely unfrozen. Furthermore, Lucius's

Foresight capabilities are scaled even higher, as his foresight operates at a Layer +4 tier of authority. Because his future-sight sits an entire layer above Yuno's dome, it completely bypasses the localized supreme time freeze, allowing Lucius to successfully read the future and strategize even while standing inside a supreme time stop. Yuno successfully used his Layer +3 manipulation to strip away Lucius active time casting, but Lucius's Layer +3 physical immunity and Layer +4 precognition allowed him and his Paladins to move freely.

All the Magic he gained from the Ultra Gargantuan Magic has layered +2 properties

Lucius’s final form takes his layering system to its absolute extreme by automatically scaling every newly absorbed attribute to a Layer +2 tier of power authority. By physically connecting his soul to the Grimoire Towers across the Clover Kingdom, Lucius absorbs the fundamental essence of every deceased mage's attribute directly into his higher-dimensional body. Because his soul operates as a transcendent and is purified at a baseline of Layer +2, any new magic attribute he gains naturally adapts to and inherits his body's superior hierarchical tier. This creates a devastating mechanical disadvantage for his opponents in the BC universe, a lower-tier spell can never naturally overpower or clash with a higher-tier version of the exact same element. Therefore, because Lucius now holds a Layer +2 version of almost every natural magic type in existence, he becomes passively immune to any standard or base-level magic thrown at him. If a magic knight attacks him with regular fire, wind, or earth, those spells are instantly erased upon contact with his aura, completely overruled and neutralized by the superior authority of Lucius's upgraded elements.

Let me hear your opinion and criticism

Explanation for why Lucius Zogratis has Layered +1 Time Immunity and Layered +1 Foresight and Yuno has Layered +1 Time Manipulation

To understand why they possess these, you have to look at how their powers interact during Judgment Day. When Yuno drops Star Magic: Never-Neverland, he spawned a domain where the absolute concept of time is frozen solid and magic is strengthened or weakened. **Because this domain successfully overpowers and shuts down Lucius’s Time Magic, it shows that Yuno has a Layered +1 Time Manipulation because he has the authority to freeze an ability that literally controls time.**

But this is where Lucius proves his physiology surpasses that. Even though Neverland deletes the flow of time around him, **Lucius’s body doesn't freeze. Lucius continues to move, think, and his minions and Paladins can also have the power to cast spells perfectly like him within Yuno's domain. That right there is an example of Layered +1 Time Immunity, his physical existence is completely unbound from a higher tier time stop.**

On top if that, Lucius also has a functioning Foresight. Standard precognitive users would look ahead and see absolutely nothing, a completely static, unreadable standstill because a world/place where time is paused, normal foresight goes completely blind because there is no "next second" to look at. **Yet, while standing inside Yuno’s still-time domain, Lucius can still look out and process tens of thousands of branching, parallel futures simultaneously. By using future-sight inside a space where time doesn't even exist, this proves that Lucius foresight works on a higher level.**

So in Conclusion, Lucius has Layered +1 Time Immunity and Layered +1 Foresight and Yuno has Layered +1 Time Manipulation. Oh and before you comment "then that means everyone in that domain has Layered +1 Time Immunity so it doesn't make sense" you are wrong because first, just like Yuno buffing his teammates and nerfing the enemy's magical power, he also has the ability to allow his teammates to move freely within that domain, **it just so happens that his enemies are immune it.** And also "it only affects time based spells not users" no because Yuno's Spirit Sylph explicitly mentioned they manipulate the time and mana power within that Space, not "mana and time-based spells specifically" because the time magic nullification is only a byproduct of the Never-Neverland.

Confirmed Magic that Lucius have

His innate

  1. Soul Magic

  2. All Supreme Devil Magic and lower level devils except for the Supreme Devils in the first layer (got slimed by asta)

  3. Dark Triad Magic

  4. Chain, Permeation, Memory Magic

  5. All Elemental Magic

  6. Past Wizard Kings

  7. The Elves including the one with Dream Magic and Compass Magic

  8. Basically anyone that Died within the Clover Kingdom, he might even have fate magic there but we don't know jack shit unless it's confirmed.

Lucius is genuinely Stacked, he would be legit terrifying If he used compound magic to combine Devil Magic to normal ones so it can also affect concepts. If there's any magic that I forgot to mention, you can comment it

Could the Country above Spade Kingdom be Joker Kingdom?

I know this is an old theory >!and the manga already ended (it might be added in the anime)!<, but I want to hear your opinion on this one and what are the possibility of it happening. It could also be connected to Tabata's earlier work, Hungry Joker.

What having a Rushed Arc and Dying Author does to a Final Villain

This is just so tragic for Lucius considering that he's supposed to be the Big Bad Guy of Black Clover. Mind you no newgen final villain ever had this level of downfall. Black Clover's only hope is to receive the TYBW treatment

Apparently when Julius reversed time, Vanica, Zenon and maybe Dante... Survived!?

Disney clover never left I guess

If Lucius was in Death Battle, who should he fight against?

For me, I think Kaguya/Madara from Naruto and Haumea from Fire Force are his best matchups
