Dexcom G7 Apple Watch Compatibility Without iPhone

Hello everyone!

I have a younger cousin who was just diagnosed as a type 1 diabetic. His mom is trying to determine whether a standalone apple watch with a data plan would work well or if he needs an iPhone as well.

Thanks!

5 years of experience in the industry. How do I move out of support?

I feel cooked.

I'm 5 years in, I went to a not great school and started my career at a low tier consulting and outsourcing firm. I did data analysis for a production model and helped curate the dataset and re train the model. Then I moved projects and was a project manager for a year. I hated project management and took the first job I was offered out.

That was two years ago. I've been support ever since. I've taken the initiative to land code changes when possible or to draft simple diffs for the oncall before escalating.

I write scripts and skills and update documentation but I feel like my current job has no real path to get to SWE or SRE. I don't feel respected.

I know tech far better than most of my peers but engineers constantly talk down to me. I work on personal projects and even have my own homelab. I'm taking classes for my masters via OMSCS but I'm feeling really discouraged.

My experience has been as a contractor at 2 of the top big tech companies. I don't really know how to take the next step.
