100% noob with a question(s)

Seeking expert advice for my new Unifi home network setup!

I've got:

- Unifi 5G Max Outdoor Modem

- Cloud Gateway Ultra

- 4 Unifi U6 WiFi Mesh devices

- UniFi Switch Ultra (60W). ^(For later expansion)

My desktop will be wired directly to the UCG.

I'm wondering if I should hardwire (CAT6A S/FTP) each U6 device or use them wirelessly. If wired, can they still function as a mesh network? First-timer here, so all insights are welcome!

How would you do it?

Newest FW Luba 3

The latest 2.3.30.24 firmware still needs a little tweaking. 😂

No-Go Zones are just suggestions for where the mower should not go. One set of blades went there when the mower decided to cut down the rowan seedlings.

New update again

Installing and testing. Adding later discoveries.

Tested.

  1. Significantly better blade on/off behavior. In a tiny 140m² test cut, the blades shut down twice.
  2. Much less hassle after the blades were off. No more twitching when getting back on track.
  3. Battery? Maybe a few percent more consumption.
  4. Time for that plot: 40 minutes, settings 23cm / 0.4m/s. A few minutes more compared to a couple of weeks ago.

Overall, Mammotion is getting back on track. I'm happy with how things work for me. Emphasis on the word "me."

Thanks Mammotion.

[ADD] Just noticed and don't like: When the mower undocks and is ready to go, it makes a full tank turn in front of the charging station.

[ADD2] Mammotion app on Android has an update too.

New update app & mower

I said I wasn't one of the first to update, but whatever (took one for the team). I installed it anyway. A few observations so far: 1) The reverse direction feature works. 2) The improved three-point turn works randomly. At one end of the area being mowed, the mower makes a three-point turn, while at the other end it makes a tank turn. 3) The mower randomly turns off the blades when turning right, but doesn't give an error message in the app. 4) The transition speed setting works well. 5) The program turns on automatic updates, and you can't turn it off. You turn the setting off and go back, and it's back on (fortunately, it only updates on a WiFi network). Overall, pretty happy with how the update is working. And all this is tested on Android.
