What is your day to day life like as a ETO onboard any type of vessel?

As the title says, what is your day to day life as an ETO?

I've been awarded a place as an ETO student in Ireland for the upcoming academic year and I would love to hear some stories from fully qualified ETOs about your day to day life onboard

- What license? (4th, 3rd, etc)
- What vessel?

- What makes a successful ETO

Is 33 too late to start training as an ETO?

Recently came across the ETO position and definitely think it something i would like to pursue for a career change, but, slightly worried i may be perceived as too old. Has anyone here become an ETO at say 35+ and are there any barriers to entry i should know about?

irritation after soldering

Hi all!

I've recently changed from unleaded solder to leaded solder and noticed that every time I finish a soldering session I get dry red irritation on my face.

Curious, does anyone else suffer from something similar?

Could it be im reacting to the fumes from leaded solder mixed with flux? Maybe I should invest in an air extractor

I'm at a loss :(
