SleepHQ

I put in my SD card and it says it won't upload because missing DATALOG/ and SETTINGS/

Is there a 12-year-old here who could help a tech-impaired old understand what this means? (I have OSCAR and managed that one!)

First two nights rough

I have used the Resmed 11 for two nights now. Both days I have woken up with a wicked headache which is just like my apnea headache. I did download the data to Oscar but I don't know what is significant and what isn't! I don't know how to show the data page from Oscar, but it seems to say AHI 0.19 on both nights. Do you think this headache is just acclimation to the CPAP? TYIA!

First CPAP night experience

I am very proud of myself. Thanks wholly to the very helpful folks on this sub, I tweaked the settings a tiny bit and was able to sleep 6 hours - until 4 am. Dreamwear mask, and it didn't bother me at all. Don't know yet how to download my SD card, but the Myair says all good, no hypopneas, no leaks. But I did wake up with headache and fatigue. As per usual. I am determined to see that as normal acclimation to a very different sleep experience. And hopeful that experienced folks will chime in and say I am right and it only gets better!! TYIA!

Just got CPAP delivered

An RT brought it, but he was pretty hurried. I tried to get as much information as I could, but its kind of overwhelming.

This company only brought one mask - A Dreamwear Under the Nose Nasal Mask. Its comfortable enough but I find it hard to exhale. Is this the norm when starting? My unit was set for 4-12 and the RT turned the EPR up to 3.

Is it me or does everyone have this response? Inhaling is great, just fine. The exhale just feels abnormal. I do have lung disease, but I had a titration study and this is what was prescribed.

Should I tape my mouth overnight?

Should I ask for BiPAP?

I have chronic lung disease and "mild" sleep apnea with not-so-mild symptoms. My titration study recommended CPAP. Can I request the machine that does bi-level too? Should I? It seems to me my lung disease could worsen and I might come to need the BiPAP at some point. If I am paying cash is my NP likely to object to prescribing BiPAP and should I even try? What I remember from the awful titration night is difficulty exhaling with the nasal pillow mask (could not use it for that reason) but not with the face mask. But I was open-mouth-panting with the face mask! It was very uncomfortable and drying.

Settings from a Titration Study

My hospital sleep department still has not released my titration study to me. It has been 2 weeks. I am suffering enough that I just want to send my initial HST to Lofta, pay whatever is required to get a prescription, and get a CPAP overnighted to me.

My question is: once I have that CPAP, will it be possible for me to understand and input the settings from my titration study, when the hospital finally releases them to me?

CPAP Provider in NYC?

Can anyone recommend a CPAP store in NYC that also provides mask-fitting and ongoing support for new CPAP users? I won't be using insurance; just need a lot of help and hand-holding because I'm a new CPAP user! My Sleep NP is at Weill Cornell, they use Apria, but I have heard bad things about Apria.

APAP or CPAP

I will be getting a prescription for my machine soon. Should I be getting an APAP or CPAP? Is an APAP also a CPAP?
So confusing but I want to ask for the right one.

I am desperate. I have been suffering for 3 months with increasing exhaustion and headaches and the Weill Cornell Sleep Center is slow-walking this process. I got a titration study over a week ago, it is still pending, and now I am told it will take a month after that is finalized to go through a DME vendor in NYC.

Please, experienced people: how do I bypass insurance entirely at this point, get the titration study to a private vendor and get my CPAP? Is this possible? My children are worried about me and want to pay out of pocket for the equipment. And I am desperate to get my life back. But the hospital just says "this is our process". Isn't that titration study my property and where would I take it to get the CPAP programmed?

Thank you to this community. You have been so much more help than the doctors.

I am waiting for my CPAP. I had the titration study and the provider says it will be another month. The exhaustion and headache seem cumulative and I am having trouble just going out for a walk around the block due to the exhaustion.

Is there anything else I can try that might reduce the symptoms and get me through another month? This is what I am doing now:

* head of bed elevation

* positional device keeps me off my back (SomnoPose App)

* sinus irrigation daily/BreathRight Strips/nasal dilators

* nasal breathing all day

* mouth tape (tried chin strap first)

Am I missing anything that might help?

Is this the kind of "SD card" I should buy? Is there any other equipment that experienced folks would recommend when starting CPAP?

SanDisk Ultra 32GB Class 10 SDHC UHS-I Memory Card up to 80MB/s (SDSDUNC-032G-GN6IN)

I went in to the lab for CPAP titration last night. I woke up (maybe 5 hours sleep) feeling worse than I have in years, worse than any illness I've ever suffered, with a killer headache that 7 hours on, despite both Tylenol, Ibuprofen and massive hydration, is still near unbearable. I've never felt this awful and I seriously don't want to go near CPAP ever again.

Is this normal after CPAP titration in a sleep lab?

I had a home study but now I have to get CPAP Titration in the sleep lab. It is unavoidable. I will bring new masks for the techs and ask them to please use them even if I am asleep.

My question is about air purifiers. I had been thinking of lugging my large Coway air purifier, but I am 72 years old, will be going there alone, and I think it’s going to be too much for me. I am wondering if I would get any mileage out of taking my two smaller air purifiers. One is the cylindrical Pure Zone, and the other one is the small box shaped QT3.

What are people’s thoughts about this, and other things I can do to keep from getting any kind of virus?
