Any last minute tips to calm for my wedding in 3 days ? Sheet mask, cream, etc?

Not sure why I’m flaring, possible my period. I use prescription Azaic acid and OTC ivermectin. Having my period on my wedding sucks enough, but my face is flaring. This doesn’t look bad but it’s after I gently drained my papules and washed with sulfur soap. They will most likely fill back up and multiply by the end of today.
Are there any little hacks or products that seem to calm your skin down pretty quickly?

My solution (i think)

Male 32.

I’ve had a form of type 1 rosacea since I was 18. I can distinctly remember in my last year of high school looking in the mirror and see my face flush all red. Since then it’s been a constant (internal battle). Back then I live like any other 18 year old: bad food and drink and a lot of partying and drinking. That did not stop until I was about 25 and even after that I still did not live as healthy as I should have. But ever since that moment skincare was my ‘solution’, nothing really helped. Only in the last 5 years I’ve taken my health more serious. I haven’t had any refined sugar for the past 3 years, only alcohol once a week and more veggies. That helped a lot for the ‘serious’ flares, it became more stable but at times my skin would be ‘perfect’, these would come at random moments, even at times when I would be on a drinking binge with friends for example and eating bad food.

During all those years I’ve tried numerous skincare brands and treatments like lasers and microneedling. I am certain everything helped a bit but nothing made it stable to the point I was happy. I hated that it could be great for 4 days, feel good and then for no apparent reason become unpredictable again.

To finish up: i was in italy with friends 3 weeks ago; sun, alcohol and nothing healthy to eat, this time my skin was at it’s worst. Constant redness and a lot of dry patches.

I asked claude about it when I got back and it recommended me ‘Avene Tolerance Cream’ as he said my skin barrier has been broken due to the lifestyle, sun and sea,it was the millionth cream I would have bought.

Three days later I went from the worst it’s been to extremely calm. As you might recognise I was waiting for it to become bad again but that ‘hasn’t’ happened, not to say I don’t have any redness or some flushing but my skin is superr calm, and that itself is a great relaxing feeling.

Thought it might help somebody, after years of reading here and not contributing anything ;)

Bronzage

Sunscreen rec europe

I was using hamilton toddler. It had a very sparlky/oily finish but other than that it was perfect. Didn't needed to reapply as much (lasted 3+ hours for me. Losed effect after 4) It was non sticky, like it didn't transfer when you touched. It sets itself. It had chemical sunscreen ingredients i think cause it didn't had white color. And it was BIG like 250mL. My rosacea has gotten severly better in years with caring I get red and i get pupsils but my skin never burns from inside anymore. I'd love to keep using it but i've moved to europe and they don't carry the brand (it's australian). :( Any recommendations??

Does Vitamin D supplements trigger anyone’s Type 2?

I noticed every time I take Vitamin D, I develop a Type 2 pustule flare up. I am incredibly Vitamin D deficient, so I’m not taking the supplement for fun and leisure lol. But I feel like I’m either picking brain fog or a face flare to combat. It’s so annoying! I’m curious if anyone else deals with this issue or has found a solution.

Thank you!

How do you remove your makeup?

i use a tinted sunscreen that’s long lasting (every day) and I feel like cleansing with just a gel cleanser isn’t enough.. i'd really like to start using a makeup remover first.
just to clarify, I have oily skin that’s prone to blackheads, fairly dehydrated cheeks, and type 1 and 2 rosacea.
for those of you in the same situation as me, what makeup remover do you use? thx!

Dermatologist says it's not rosacea

Besides my lips (they were inflamed bc of contact allergy) my skin is always kinda pink in cheeks/chin but it varies throughout the day. Exercising or being in the sun makes it much worse. My dermatologist said that it probably wasn't rosacea and put me on tretinoin for a year. Then prescribed me a "combo topical" to "tackle everything". My skin got much worse after tretinoin and now I'm trying adapalene instead, for acne. But I'm wondering if I should go to another dermatologist for a second opinion. If you're diagnosed, does your skin look like this?

IMMENSELY itchy day 2 of ivermectin?

Okay so I need some advice. I’ve tried doxy, metro gel, and sulfur in the past with no luck. Got tipped off about .5% ivermectin lice cream on here and bought home. I had no real skincare routine, so I’m starting from scratch. Just rinsing well with lukewarm water and apply a small amount of the cream all over, morning and night.

Yesterday, it was fine, but today, the second day, holy shit my face is on fire. Everywhere that has red patches is so insanely itchy. I can’t even think it’s so bad. I have ocular rosacea too which has been flaring and you can see how gross and red it is in the pic (ugh).

Should I only be applying once a day? Or am I supposed to be washing it off? Should I be using cleanser when I wash instead of just water? Is this just normal because of “die off”? In terms of appearance, it is no better or worse so far.* But I might have to go rinse my face because this is insane. It’s just getting worse and worse throughout the day, I’ve never been so uncomfortable. And it’s weird because yesterday the first day I was totally fine.

*I actually just checked a mirror and it has in fact gotten a lot worse in the last several hours since I took that pic, coinciding with the discomfort worsening, more red and more bumbs 😫

On the hunt for my HG moisturizer. Anyone tried these?

I’ve tried the Reju 5000 and I actually really like it but it’s $30 for a tiny .7 oz tube. The other two are slightly more cost effective so wanted to see if anyone else with rosacea has tried and liked/disliked them!

2 months of low-dose Accutane for type 2 rosacea (PP)

Adding my results to the data pool, for future reference, if you find yourself like me: sad, hopeless, and frustrated with the discomfort caused by the burning, irritated, and broken skin. TLDR; it gets so much better.

30F - working in healthcare (very stressful job, for what it's worth). No other medical history. I do not drink or smoke, not even socially.

The before picture is from 6/2/25, which is probably the "worst" my skin has ever looked. Disclaimer: I do think my period contributed to the increase in pustules, but outside of my menses, I still looked like that on average (also dealt with intense flushing to every single trigger known to trigger rosacea, ugh).

I tried EVERYTHING over the years - topicals, creams, washes, doxycycline/antibiotics, doing nothing, drastic diet changes, drank 2-3L of water daily, exercise, meditation. Nothing helped. The first progress picture saved on my phone is from May 2023, but it started developing before that. Skin was great before I started medical school, so I think the underlying etiology of my PP rosacea was stress + hormones.

I finally bit the bullet on low-dose Accutane. I started 30 mg daily on 3/3/26. Within ~10 days, it was completely healed. I went down to 20 mg daily ~1 month into my treatment due to dryness - I aimed to take the lowest, most effective dose possible. It's now 5/20/26 (so ~2.5 months), and I am still maintaining great skin on 20 mg daily - no relapses of the pustules. Just flushing to my usual triggers (which I will take ANY DAY over the pustules/pain). I will probably be on Accutane for a total of 6ish months, but each time I meet with my dermatologist, we have ongoing discussions about the total duration (it's subject to change based on my response and weight etc).

I’m open to questions! I hope this helps at least someone :)

Edit: added more context

3rd IPL and this is a first… how bad is it?

How bad is this? My esthetician said it would only take 4 days for the bruising to go away and it would not turn yellow or green like typical bruises. She told me it was normal for fair skin like mine but the first two treatments didn’t do this at all. I googled it and read it could take a month or more for this discoloration to fade. Tryint not to cry.

i feel like my rosacea is slowly getting worse

i’ve struggled with sensitive skin & rosacea my whole life. it’s something that’s always contributed to my insecurities, as i’m sure everyone in here understands. i honestly feel really vulnerable even posting pictures of my skin here. i’ve finally decided in the last few months to start taking my skincare seriously. i consult this page before i buy anything! in some aspects i’ve noticed my skin doing a lot better! i’m so much less dry & flaky, and the redness really was going down, but now… i’ve had these tiny white pustules pop up. they started out pretty minor, very irritated & itchy feeling, but yesterday i noticed quite a large one. i put my spot treatment on, did my skincare, and went to bed. i woke up this morning to it big, angry, and very painful (pictured.) this is a really uncommon breakout for me. i usually only do my skincare routine once daily in the evening, unless i’m wearing makeup, then i will prep. can anyone help me figure out what the culprit might be here? am i just using too many products?? i’m learning & trying really hard to do the best things for my skin that i can, so constructive criticism is very appreciated 🫶

(if wearing makeup) micellar water
aveeno calm & restore oat cleanser
aveeno calm & restore pha exfoliator OR 2% bha liquid exfoliant (not used daily, 2-4 times weekly)
hypochlorous acid
thayers milky toner
the ordinary soothing & barrier support serum
elf thirst burst drops serum
the ordinary 10% azelaic acid suspension (not used daily, maybe 1-2 times weekly)
cosrx all in one
vanicream daily facial moisturizer or walgreens DE lala retro dupe when something heavier is needed
elf bluety oil

I CANT FIND A EFFING MOISTURIZING

I’m sooooo fed up!! It’s not possible that any moisturizer on the planet break me out.

I’ve tried everything. No niacinamide, non comedogenic, no nothing.

Now I’ve tried the curel intensive face cream and discovered that also ceramides are no good.

How in the world am I supposed to heal my barrier to start finacea If I cannot even find a moisturizer. 😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩

When I don’t do ANYTHING (don’t wash my face, don’t apply anything) my skin is super dry and rough but at least not like this. CAN I START AZELAIC ACID AND NOT USE A MOISTURIZER?

Thanks for your help and I am lost 😩

Anyone else have rosacea ONLY on their forehead?

I got diagnosed with Type 2 by my derm last summer after my forehead had been breaking out constantly for months. I’d never considered it before because I didn’t think Rosacea was ever forehead only. But it makes sense because when I wash my face my forehead is beet red and the rest of my face is completely clear. I can basically abuse the skin everywhere else and never break out but if I look at my forehead the wrong way I wake up with 30 pustules.

Triple cream has helped a bunch but I still haven’t found a moisturizer that consistently helps/doesn’t hurt. My skin will clear up if I treat it perfectly for a week but then it will randomly flare up again and I can’t figure it out. I’ve been keeping a spreadsheet log of potential triggers every day…

Now that I think about it, I’ve only ever really had serious skin issues with my forehead. Hormonal teenage acne was entirely concentrated there as well. I have “bangs” but they’re very up and out of the way, so there’s never any hair on my forehead. That being said, I do think I have more tiny baby hairs along the perimeter of my forehead than most people and I wonder if that contributes.

So my question is , what’s wrong with my forehead and does anyone else have the same pattern?

Also moisturizer recs would be great. I’ve tired LP cicaplast balm, dieux skin mercy, prequel am/pm, both Illiyoon (my old holy grail) …

Very low scent sunscreen?

Hi, any suggestions for sunscreen or lotion with spf that is VERY low scent/no scent and good for type 2 rosacea?

I purchased the Blue Lizard sensitive SPF 50 sunscreen lotion, not spray, and the CeraVe daytime lotion with SPF 50 and I've found both have too strong of a scent. I can tolerate the scent of Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch SPF 45/60, but I don't think it's doing my rosacea any favours. Thanks :)

Second opinion

Hello, I’m just looking for a second opinion after doing a lot of research. I’ll describe my current routine here and what I’m thinking of switching to as well.
I am currently doing:
PM: LRP toleriane cleanser
Aveeno oat calm+restore moisturizer
A bit of shea butter on my cheeks
AM: Cicalfate
But I feel like it’s not doing enough for my barrier and rosacea, is it okay for me to hop over to
PM: Avène Tolérance Extremely Gentle Cleanser Bioderma otaderm intensive baume
A bit of shea butter on dry spots
AM: Skin1004 Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum SPF50+

I’m mostly looking to hear of others experiences with these products. I know the LRP Toleriane cleanser contains niacinamide, and I don’t think that irritates my skin. I think the LRP cleanser actually works fine for me but I’ve read decent stuff about the Avene one.
Just some details: I have very dry skin, always have I think. My old routine was just LRP Toleriane cleanser, the white bottle. Then around a year ago I tried ONE TIME the LRP foaming gel double cleanser and I’ve been red ever since, severely broke my skin barrier. My face is just consistently red now, especially on my cheeks, nose, sometimes forehead.

Rosacea

Rosacea has ruined my face. It came out of nowhere. There are no "triggers", its just there 24/7 and i cant even do basic housework without my face getting boiling warm and beet red. Ive been to 2 dermatologists, both were useless. No explanation, no info. I have vascular rosacea without any pustules. I almost cant do anything anymore without it flaring like crazy. Its affecting my nose too and almost every day the tip of my nose gets red and swells to twice its size. Fun. Ive been told the only option is laser which i cant even afford. Whatever. Rosacea has completely ruined my face and my days. Fuck this goddamn disease.

Anyone’s face look bloated af?

I have type 1 and I have a lot of visible blood vessels on my face.

But what I notice is that my face looks super bloated. It doesn’t help that my face shape is round, but I swear my face looks even bigger and it’s so damaging to my self esteem as it doesn’t match my body at all :(

Anyone else?
