Minoxidil and Rosacea flare up , is there a link?

Hi everyone,

I'm new to skincare and my cheeks are pretty reactive as in nothing seems to agree with them. I have some photos to show how they currently look.

The only correlation I can find is that I started minoxidil about two months ago, and my rosacea seems to have gotten worse since then (it was very unoticeable before). My theory is that since minoxidil is a vasodilator, it might be aggravating the redness.

I had mild rosacea before, but it feels worse now.

I already saw a dermatologist and he prescribed a gentle cleanser and some creams but they ended up irritating my skin more than helping.

Would appreciate any input from people who've dealt with something similar, especially if you've had to choose between minoxidil and keeping rosacea under control.

Looking on advice on how to treat rosacea and keep using minoxidil.

Thanks for help !

What is this skin redness? (Is it roseacea or something else?)

Hello all,

I'm very new to skincare so please be patient with me.

I've had this skin redness on my cheeks for a long time now but it was mild/unoticeable now it has some little bumps to it and varies in intensity sometimes.

Is this rosacea or smth else?

I'll add that in those areas my skin leaves some tiny white points as if it's dry even though my skin is oily.

Also whenever I try a new product it goes well but those cheeks that flare up.(salicyc acid cleanser for example)

Thank you for your help.

Hello everyone,

I posted before about how I was starting two months ago a new regime including :

  • LLT (every 2 days)
  • Micro-needling (1mm once weekly)
  • Ordinary hair serum (every day)
  • Saw palmeto orally (every other day)
  • Pura d'or shampoo (alternating with minoxidil shampoo)
  • Have tried trioxidil 10% from folligain for 3 weeks but stopped yesterday due to flakes (probably because of propylene glycol ) and now worried about the shed it might bring.

My hairloss is currently worsening and these are not yielding any proper results.

My problem is that I have already tried topical minoxidil 5% at low dosage and got eye bags and some pain when breathing. Also tried microdosing topical fin at 0,005% and got sides like insomnia and breast pain. These weren't nocebo as I wasn't aware of these sides before trying them. I'm part of the more sensitive ones who can't tolerate the treatments that work.

Do you guys have any advice to give me , something I can add to my stack ?

Thank you for your help I really appreciate you if you were put in a similar situation.
