Lena was REALLY curious as was ‘Frankie’ the Squirrel. I had to take her into the house as I wasn’t sure how the interaction would go!
Mom asked me to find dad. Well, here he is!
My insurance company sent me a rather generic letter about ‘you’ve been on Opioids over 90 days’, etc., and offered tips for decreasing or getting off of the drugs. Just for reference, I’ve been on various pain meds (including Buprenorphine) and have the most pain relief from my current dosage of 15 - 20mg Oxycodone daily. I also take Pregabalin 50mg bid and Celebrex. Suggestions from insurance company range from Tylenol (I can’t take due to sensitivity), Ibuprofen (can’t combine this with Celebrex), methadone or naltrexone. I’ve discussed this issue with my pain doctor and he is fine with the dose/duration of my Opioid use (over 2 years). I am just wondering about others experiences with pain meds and what has given the most relief? I have no experience with either methadone or naltrexone. Thanks.
I have a question that may not be answerable. Just curious. A bit of history: I’ve had numerous back surgeries, the latest being a total fusion from t12-l1, a cervical disc replacement and resection of c1 nerve, and right/left hip replacements plus generalized arthritis. Okay, question: I’ve worked out all of my life and continue to do so. I try to Swim 3x/week (I hate it - had to replace bike riding after rib fractures from bike crash), lift weights 3x/week alternating pool vs land, walk 1.5 miles days I don’t swim, do exercises for my back/hips 3x week and stretch. So, I’m quite painful the days after swimming and wonder - is that normal and I should just continue? Or, should I back off? Pain is present no matter what. Just worse after any kind of more strenuous workouts (bike or swim). It feels like my whole body is ‘vibrating’ with pain on my off days and it’s difficult to do anything! Thoughts? Thank you!
