Looking for August 1st 2-bedroom in downtown Montreal — is it too late?
Hi everyone,
I’m moving to Montreal for a master’s program, and my roommate and I are looking for a 2-bedroom apartment for August 1st. Ideally, we’d like to be downtown / Ville-Marie / Griffintown / near Centre Bell, preferably within about a 20-minute walk.
Our combined budget is around $2,000/month total, but we’d be willing to go a bit higher for the right place. Good natural light is important to us. Furnished would be ideal, but we’re willing to go unfurnished if we really have to.
We’ve been looking, but it’s been hard to find something that works for both of us, especially with August 1st coming up. I know July 1st is the big moving date in Montreal, so I’m wondering:
Is it still realistic to find a decent 2-bedroom for August 1st at this point? Are there specific sites, Facebook groups, lease transfer groups, or strategies you’d recommend? Should we expand our search to certain nearby neighborhoods while still being close to downtown?
