Can I make the opposite of a French drain in my greenhouse?
This is most likely an issue of me not knowing the proper terms to do a search, because when searching online I keep ending up with results not quite what I'm looking for.
I'm thinking of making a trench in my greenhouse to fill with water so that it'll drain slowly (within an hour, not mosquito-breeding-ground slowly) into the earth around the back area. But I keep finding ways to drain water away from the earth instead. Is this idea possible/does it have a proper name?
I have a rainwater cache besides the greenhouse and I thought it would be neat if I could just open the tap directly into the trench and fill it, then let it drain into the ground and water evenly.
I'm thinking I'd need some kind of gravel/pebbles and then something underneath, so the water doesn't immediately drain into the ground underneath the tap, but spread out evenly. But what do I search for to find out how to actually build this? It would be around 3,5 m long, so I should probably look at the slope too.
