Lower wisdom tooth close to nerve, looking for opinions before extraction.
Hi everyone, I’m 23 and my lower right wisdom tooth is slowly erupting. I barely have any pain from it, maybe mild pressure/growing pain once every few months for a day max.
My main issue is a gum flap over the tooth (operculum), which can get irritated sometimes. My dentist referred me to an oral surgeon because according to him he fears there’s limited space and the nerve is apparently somewhat close to the roots, so he wants to evaluate whether extraction is necessary.
Looking at my X-ray, does this wisdom tooth seem severely impacted/problematic, or does it look like something that could potentially just be monitored or treated conservatively (like removing the gum flap)?
