Hi all, I am preemptively “planning” mine and my boyfriend’s wedding (to be engaged this year sometime.) I want a longer engagement for multiple reasons, so we won’t have our actual wedding for 2-3 years most likely.
This is my ideal timeline, especially considering I want to have a destination wedding. However, I’m quickly finding that I have way too high of standards and “taste” considering the reality of both our financial standings (even with a good amount of time to save for it.)
My partner is Chilean and I would LOVE to have our wedding in Chile, preferably by a beautiful body of water; coast or lake. That is truly my only preference for the destination, other than it being a beautiful space, which I don’t really have any worries about. I know I’ll find the right place.
With that being said, my dream destination would be &Beyond (andBeyond) Vira Vira Pucon Lake District. And boy-oh-boy, is it nothing short of INCREDIBLE. But the quote I received was around $69,500 for a full buy-out for ONE NIGHT (required for an event like this.) However, this does include: lodging “accommodations, three meals daily, soft drinks, house wines, local brand spirit and beers, teas and coffees, excursions and all activities, road transfers to and from Temuco Airport (if staying 3 or more nights).” Which left me thinking that actually might be a good price?😭
All in all though, I saw this price and about dropped dead, realizing I will probably have to settle. Which leaves me just wanting to elope and have a decent honeymoon ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
My biggest takeaway in this is that I am clearly a peasant in the wedding world😭🤣 I also realize even more that I am entirely naive in this realm overall.
Does anyone have any destination venues in South America that are MUCH more affordable than that? We’re open to Guatemala, Peru, but preferably want Chile.
Based on the cost above, should we just try for a wedding in California or Hawaii for somewhere else by a “body of water?” Lol, sigh. This is going to be quite the journey I see, lol.
