PS5 4K / 120hz GAMING
So I was planning on getting a nice 4k 120hz tv for gaming on my ps5 because I’ve been getting tired of swapping between my 1080p gaming monitor and 4k 60hz tv so I can just play all my single player / shooter games on one screen I was playing my single player games on my 4k tv getting 60 fps and playing my competitive shooters on my 1080p 120hz monitor well I was doing some research before purchasing the tv and there are theories that if you do play 4k and the tv does support 120hz that means the system can possibly go up to 120fps but 9 times out of ten people say if you play a single player game in 4k even with performance mode on you’re fps is more than likely to stay around 60fps because while playing in 4k the game is going to prioritize resolution with a steady 60 and if I was to play competitive shooters in 4k with 120hz so that means 120fps on the same tv there are theories that if you do that on competitive shooters like call of duty the game will downscale you’re in game resolution to 1440p .. how true is this I want to know if im wasting my time on getting a 4k 120hz tv and if i should just stick with my 4k 60hz tv for my single player games and just buy myself a 1440p 120hz monitor for competitive games.
