My 10 year old with RAI heterotaxy, a history of 4 open heart surgeries and 4 gut surgeries is having one of 2 vTOS surgeries in 3 weeks for complete obstruction of R and L subclavian vein and mild R and L arterial obstruction. For anyone that has had surgery- what helped the most with recovery pain? We have to travel out of our home state for all her medical care, we will be far from home and I’m so worried about her. A week after this surgery she has to have another surgical procedure- an EGD with biopsy. We will be flying home ( roughly a 7 hour flight) 16 days after her surgery. She’s the toughest human I know but I would love advice on anything that helped.
