To bring or not to bring our toddler on vacation this summer - HELP!
Hey everyone, I need some perspective! My husband and I are trying to plan a trip for this summer - most likely to Maine - and our minds are changing every five seconds on whether to bring our daughter who will be 17 months old or leave her with family.
On one hand, I can see it being so sweet to have her with us, even if we have to totally manage our expectations, plan around nap schedules and accept a much slower pace.
On the other hand, we could obviously do and see so much more if it was just the two of us... but then the parental guilt kicks in. It feels a little sad to leave her behind and of course I don’t want to damage her emotionally in any way!
My own parents never traveled when we were growing up, so I have zero blueprint for this. For those who have balanced this: How old were your kids when you first traveled without them? Do you regret going kid-free, or was it the reset you needed? Any advice for breaking out of this indecision loop would be AMAZING.
