Hi everyone,

I need some advice on my situation.

I was on an F1 visa in the U.S., and my OPT expired in September 2025. My visa stamp is still valid until August 2026, but I’ve moved to Canada now.

I spoke to my international advisor, and she said my SEVIS record shows as “completed.”

I’m planning to enter the U.S. from Canada through a land border just for a few days to see family. I’m **not planning to resume studies and don’t want to get a new I-20**.

Do you think I can enter the U.S. with just my valid visa, or will I be denied entry because my SEVIS is completed and I don’t have an active I-20?

Has anyone been in this situation, or does anyone have any advice?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

I'm currently in Canada on a visitor visa, and my six-month stay ended on February 16, 2026. I've applied inland for permanent residence through spousal sponsorship, and I've also submitted an application for an open work permit. Both applications are still in process. I applied while I was still within my authorized six-month stay.

Do I need to apply for a visitor record to extend my stay, or am I considered to be on implied status while my PR and work permit applications are being processed?

If anyone has been in a similar situation (inland PR + open work permit while on a visitor visa), I'd really appreciate hearing about

I got a job as a Customer Service Representative at CareNet Health

I had a few questions and was hoping someone here might have experience with them:

I need to travel to Canada after my start date — do you think they would allow me to work remotely from there, or are they strict about location?

How is the work? Is it more hectic with constant calls, or relatively chill once you get the hang of it?
