I (25 f) have my birthday coming up in a week. I work in a remote rural area, my family lives in a different city and my friends in a different one. I can't decide which of my options is the best because they're all pretty bad. I can either spend it with my family but they are toxic and make me feel restricted (i spent it with them last year and I spent the whole day crying, swore not to spend it with them anymore), or I can spend it with my friends who don't remember its my birthday ( i have brought up visiting them on those dates, they are happy and excited that I might visit them but dont seem tl remember its my birthday, they kinda never do) or i spend it alone, sad and depressed in the middle or nowhere. What would you do?
