Cooling Pad for Zephyrus G14 Now & Future G16 Upgrade

I’m looking to buy a cooling pad for my Zephyrus G14 (RTX 4070, 32GB RAM), but I’m planning to upgrade to a newer G16 within the next year or so. Because of that, I’d like a cooling pad that works well with both laptops rather than buying something specifically for the G14.

I’ve been considering the Razer Laptop Cooling Pad, but I’ve come across quite a few posts from users reporting issues with it. At the same time, most YouTube reviews seem overwhelmingly positive, which makes the feedback feel a bit contradictory.

Has anyone here used the Razer cooler long-term, especially with Zephyrus laptops? Is it actually worth the price, or are there better options that would work well for both the G14 and G16? Thanks!

I’ve been saving for months to get a ROG Zephyrus with the RTX 5060 and 16GB RAM. Originally I planned to buy an open-box one from Best Buy, but honestly I don’t think they’re dropping below $1000 anytime soon.

So now I’m thinking about going used for around $900.

For people who bought used gaming laptops before, what are the MOST important things to check to make sure the laptop is actually in good condition and not cooked?

Things I’m already thinking about:

•	Battery health

•	Screen burn-in/dead pixels

•	Temps/fans

•	GPU/CPU stress tests

•	SSD health

•	Charger condition

Anything else I should watch out for specifically on the Zephyrus models?

Also how risky is buying used OLED laptops long term?

Would appreciate any checklist or advice before I pull the trigger.

I’ve been saving for months to get a Zephyrus G14.

Originally I was planning to go for the 2023 model (older chassis), but the 2024 version with the OLED display just looks way too good to ignore.

Now I’m kinda stuck thinking about whether I should just go for the 2024 instead.

Main thing is I’m trying to get the best deal possible — ideally around $900. I’m totally fine with open-box or used if it’s in good condition.

Where are the best places to find deals like that? Any tips or recent finds?
