What was that.

Perhaps one of the worst finales (or in this case final seasons) of a show I have ever seen.

So first of all the pacing is terrible, the gen v characters are shoved in there for absolutely zero reason.

Kimiko using “love” or whatever to be able to use her power (when it never showed any problems using it before) just completely missed the mark. And feels like a very underwhelming way to how Homelander met his end.

The fight scene is absolute garbage. Homelander just had V1 and he appears weaker than he ever has before in the show. Butcher was literally going 1 on 1 with him, and Ryan (who doesn’t have V1 and is still not at his maximum powers yet) manages to hold him down (while 3 people! Soldier boy hughie and butcher couldn’t hold him down)

I’m not gonna make it a whole big power scaling thing, but what the hell? Homelander is literally now the Ultimate supe and it shows absolutely no results of that.

Hughie killing butcher was a sad scene, but it felt rushed and sudden. The funeral was weird considering Hughie killed butcher and just completely doesn’t act like it.

I have to say. It hasn’t really felt like the boys since season 3.

P.s what was that end scene with starlight fighting crime while she’s PREGNANT!?! And hughie doesn’t even care!!

(The posters for this season had Homelander decimating cities btw)

Cecil’s morality

Cecil is my favourite character in the entire show, mostly because his philosophy is basically airtight.

He has the perfect balance of empathy while still being very practical.

The show has many characters who’s motives seem almost justified, but fall too far on either side; (practicality and empathy, as having too much of either is destructive)

Robot or dinosaurus are excellent examples of absolute practicality going to far. While there motives are for the greater good, their ends often do not justify the means, even if the outcome is positive.

And then there’s empathy going to far, I think characters like powerplex or invincible himself are good examples of over empathy being destructive. Both are somewhat justified in there flawed actions but again there ends don’t justify the means.

Examples include powerplex’s huge need for guard rails for superhero’s as battles often cause many casualties. Or mark snapping at Cecil for using reanimen (which he later accepts his wrongdoing and trusts Cecil’s judgement)

I have to mention keeping conquest alive which was objectively stupid. But let’s be honest this is a completely out of character moment and the only questionable decision he’s made in the entire show.
(And let’s be honest he could’ve just learned more about viltrum through marks newfound info about his dad, and how Omni man was most likely still alive)

Rehearsing exploits doesn’t make you good at the game.

This is mostly towards the competitive dragon ball community, but screw it. I’ll also directly call out Melodic_title as he’s very active in his sub and thinks he’s a legend when he isn’t.

Since I’ve been a z rank, I always thought that once you hit a certain level most battles are mostly gonna consist of who can hit super counters the most. Which is partly true, but people like him who try and say they’re better at the game when in reality there just losers who spam practice impossible recycle combo chains (yes they exist)
+projectile animation interruption.

They are players who like to say Android 13 is balanced when in reality the only way to beat the exploits is by no life-ing the game by learning exploits the game didn’t intend for you to do.

I’m calling these people out because they are ruining the game and are unable to win without exploits. (This is very obvious in DP mode for example when all of their characters get wiped and they rely on Android 13 exploits to win)

I directly called melodic_title out saying he’s nothing without his exploits and even listed the exact ones he uses and he straight up admitted that using exploits means being good to him.

Yeah when they get patched in the update it’s gonna be nice to see him brought back down to A rank.

But in the meantime I challenge him if he thinks he’s so good to beat me in DP without using any game breaking exploits (which I know he can’t)

The boys disappointment

There’s only 1 episode left of the boys and I think it’s at least safe to say the writers choked with this finale. Kripke knew it himself with his quote about how hard it is to nail a finale and it isn’t even released yet.

Even if the finale is one of the best episodes in television, it doesn’t make up for the mostly lacklustre previous seasons (4+5)

This also points a common theme in new shows, particularly Amazon originals I notice, where once they reach a super mainstream level of popularity, the demand becomes greater. Leading to quicker releases (rushed episodes, worse CGI/animation/dialouge)

Anybody who says season 5 is a bad season is completely valid in saying it. We’re at the final episode and…some has changed.

Posters of this season had homelander in space looking down on decimated cities. Homelander just killed the president only for it to not be mentioned (like mostly everything else this season) again.

We got JDM back with an uninteresting dragged out scene with butcher and hughie which felt like they forgot that his character existed and shoved it in there at the last second.

Oh and frenchie died, which let’s be honest nobody really gives a shit (IDF) and they made the death so underwhelming and kinda meaningless that you won’t care.

I want chaos in the final episode.

A lot people are gonna say (especially people who use)

“#24 isn’t even that much”

24 out of 182 is a lot. And it’s proof of meta.

Android 13 is completely broken and ridden with exploits. Anybody who is a current Z rank will tell you this.

For the next update the game ABSOLUTELY needs to patch Android 13s broken impossible combos.

Especially before NEW characters will become abused.

Android 13 (super in particular) has a combo + projectile that is impossible to get out of.

(Completely bypasses, Super counters, vanish or R3 counters)

Last couple months it has been HEAVILY abused.

And you can tell as the people who abuse him in DP, their other characters get destroyed and there forced to use 13s exploits every time.

This particular exploit has made the game virtually unplayable as (except for using it yourself) there is no other way to combat this.

The evidence is the multiple common players with 40+ winstreaks
