(HELP) KIA Dealership warranty work - Wiring Harness part scabbing

Hey!

First time posting on this sub.

We are dealing with an issue with our 2022 KIA Carnival LX (Canadian Model). There is an issue with the "main wiring harness" as provided by the dealership.

The dealership has had our vehicle for over 3 weeks, rental provided, and not communicating to us at all regarding delays and back orders. I will not get into to much detail of how poorly managed this dealership is and the rate of turn over on employees, but it's been the worst experience we have ever had.

They recently told us that the part they need is a wire clip (on the main harness somewhere) that cannot be ordered by it's self, so they are ordering the full harness, a $5,000 part, to remove one clip and put it on our existing wiring harness. This seems fishy.

Is it typical that they would scrap a $5,000 part to utilize a $10 clip to complete a repair?

We are leery that they are just buying time until our warranty is up in August or trying to skirt one by us by "installing" a part buried in the depths of the vehicle.

Input from a dealership side, mechanic side or someone who has had this problem before would be greatly appreciated!
