Are smaller/locally owned dealers a red flag?
A couple dealers near me have quite a few 2025 carnivals with ~40k miles listed in the 30-33k range including LX and LXS trims. KBB and CARFAX is saying these are “great” deals. Red flag? Currently looking at a 2025 LXS with 28,572 miles listed for $31.6k
Apple CarPlay fails to connect when car is AutoStarted
If you AutoStart the car and then get into the vehicle later, the Apple CarPlay fails to automatically connect. The only workaround I found is shutting the vehicle off and then restarting it once your inside to force it to connect..
Is there a better solution?
My four year old daughter was injured due to Power Sliding Door Recall #23V236 for 2023 Kia Carnivals after the service was performed and they are stating it isn’t reproducible. I have proof it is. *Warning* complete banana destruction
5000 or 7500 miles?
Hi everyone!
I recently received my first service notification for my 2026 Carnival SX Prestige at 5,000 miles. However, I noticed that most people recommend getting the maintenance service at 7,500 miles. Since I’ve had this car for about 4 months now, I’m wondering if it’s advisable to get the service now or wait a bit longer. Also, I’m curious to know if the service notification is set to 5,000 miles by default.
Is there a recall rework on Kia Carni?
My dealer says bring the car in for some recall work but on NHTSA website when I put in my VIN I see no pending recalls. Who is right?
Honda Stan...should I consider Kia Carnival?
I'm 54 years old and have exclusively owned Hondas. I'm a CRV fan but I am considering a mini van option to make transporting my elderly parents easier. They struggle with entering and exiting the back seat, so I'm looking for an alternative that will better accommodate them. My concerns are longevity - I've had a Civic and 2 CRV's my whole life - they last forever! Will I regret the KIA? I've seen good reviews online but wanted this sub's perspective. Why am I not considering the Odyssey? I don't want to make it obvious to my proud parents that I'm getting a mini van for them and this looks more like a SUV.
Considering trading in
We have a 2022 lxs. Got it in 2021 when they first came out and everything was over msrp. We went with the lxs because we just didn't want to pay so much over msrp for anything else.
It's paid off. Almost to 100,000 miles.
We're considering trading in for a 2026 EX to take advantage of the 1.9% APR.
We aren't the best at negotiating at a dealership so really looking for tips on how to approach this at the dealership.
Reflector (SX) vs Projector (SXP) Headlights
Hi all,
I'm currently shopping for a '26 Carnival and I'm struggling to decide which trim. I really want the ventilated seats, 360 camera, drive assists, etc. so I think SX is the minimum. I'm coming from a 2020 CX5 Grand Touring and I'm used to projector headlights. It looks like there were a number of complaints on the pre-refresh models that the lower trim headlights were poor for visibility.
My question: Has anyone driven both trims at night, or owned other vehicles with projector headlights and then driven a 25/26 with the reflector headlights? Are they good enough to not let this be the deciding factor?
Money isn't a huge factor here, but I don't really want to spend the extra if I can't justify it. I wear polarized sunglasses enough that I don't find the HUD super compelling.
Price check, SX Prestige DMV area
$49,930, Blue with Tuscan, SX Prestige, VIP seats (yes we want the VIP seats). Seems like a good price based on what other dealerships have given 51-52,500 quotes.
-It looks like this is financing dependent. I have sent an email to clarify if this price requires their financing.
-Can anyone confirm there isn't a prepayment penalty with Kia financing?
-We would probably refinance (Navy Federal CU's 3-4%) &/or pay it off within 6-12-24 months.
-Running numbers to see our best options. Paying cash is a possibility but I don't want to lose the discount. Kinda don't want to deplete our savings that much at the moment.
*Edit/ update:
WINDOW STICKER: MSRP Including options: $54,300 Inland Freight & Handling $1545 Total MSRP: $55,845
It looks like it is the "Dark Addition" of the SX Prestige. I have not yet read up on the differences there but they seem cosmetic. Everything else seem standard for Prestige. *Added to/in place of standard HEV SX features: -Dark Edition Alloy Wheels & Dark Exterior Accents, LED Projector Headlights & LED Rear Combination Lights, Leather Seat Trim, Heads-Up Display, Bose Premium Audio, Heated Steering Wheel, Digital Rearview Mirror w/Home Link
*Additional Equipment: (again seems standard) Astra Blue paint $495 SX PRESTIGE seat package, 7 passenger, 2nd row heated/cooled & powdered w/ leg rests, Ambient lighting & Glossy interior trim -All weather floor mats luxury $315

Very excited to have such range
Good deal?
I’m getting a 2025 hybrid SXP with 8 seat configuration and rear seat entertainment package for 53k before taxes. Is it a good deal?
Looking to buy - tips and prices?
Hey all, there's an 2026 SX Prestige available near me that I'm thinking of taking a look at. Would definitely consider an SX as well.
For those who have this recent model, do you guys have and tips to look out for or prioritize when handling the car that would make you second guess or reassure you?
Would also love to know what prices you have seen from SX to SX Prestige hybrids.
Thoughts on the ‘25 Carnival?!

Gas light on…
We have had our 2024 Carnival for about 3 weeks now. It’s got 64k miles on it.
Today was the first time we let the gas get low. We had about 4mi til empty, and it started running weird. It wasn’t shifting right, and we got a warning to shift to neutral and turn the engine off (as we pulled into the gas station). I turned the engine off, and then tried to turn it back on. The car tried to turn over, but wouldn’t start.
I have had many cars in my life (and have a very bad habit of letting the tank get as low as 0mi til empty - yes, I know it’s bad for the fuel pump, I don’t need to hear it), but I have NEVER had anything like this happen. Just trying to see if this is normal for this car, or if it’s possible something is wrong. It ran totally fine after we filled up.
All weather mats
I got a carnival sx+ for a month now and love the vehicle. I need your expertise, based on your experience whats the best all weather mats. Thank you!
Grille Guard for Carnival
Hello everyone! I saw a similar Grille guard on a Toyota Sienna the other day and thought it would look great on my Carnival. Any idea on where to purchase or get one similar to the photos above? Couldn’t find any online for the Carnival.
