I just finished Livesuit and Faith of Beasts and there's been a consistent question in my mind. How do both the Carryx and the Swarm know what Tonner's team has accomplished? In TFOB we get a short throw away line about Carryx using 'void tentacles' to scout and analyze new planets for collection. Ok, personally my geek brain wants so much more info on what that is and how that works, but it is an answer. We can at least confidently assume the Carryx know exactly what they're getting before they even show up.
The swarm however shows up on Anjiin just before the Carryx arrive and immediately zeroes in on the team doing the work the Carryx are going to be most interested in. Is this just a convenient convergence to help kick off the larger plot? Does the Swarm's Control know what's happening on Anjiin to seize the moment they think will be of most interest to the Carryx. Did Control just happen to catch Carryx fleet movement and send the Swarm on a hope and a prayer the planet would be collected instead of annihilated? Or, does the Swarm knowing the work being done and by who possibly leak some info on how Anjiin became a human world?
