I’m helping my friend make an ultra budget gaming pc, like $500. It needs to have a good upgrade path, and not compromise on the important bits like power supply. Here’s the current plan:

Cpu: 5500 $125

Gpu: rx 580 (I’m giving him mine for when I upgrade, if you’ve seen my previous post)

Cooler: the one that comes with the cpu

Motherboard: gigabyte b550m ds3h ac r2 wifi ($139)

Ram: vengeance cl 16 3200mhz 16GB (8x2) ($100) secondhand

Power supply: MSI 650W MAG A650BN 80+ Bronze ATX Power Supply ($60)

Storage: 1tb seagate hdd (secondhand)($25)

Case: random mid tower or micro whatever’s on deal for like under $65

It’s currently at about $550 but that’s with right now’s deals, he’s saving money so we can only get parts in the future. He mostly plays GD, Minecarft, valorant, and wants to be able to play a wide range of games in future. He also is planning on upgrading when he gets the budget, He doesn’t want to buy parts now yet. How can I bring it down even more, potentially dipping into the $490s and 80s? Thanks.

This is my first pc and I had a low budget for it. I got it in February, and have used it every day since. I haven’t played a pc game before this, but now I main helldivers 2. After the time playing (great experience, amazing game), I decided the rx 580 couldn’t cut it as I couldn’t be playing such an amazing game at 30fps. I am now thinking of getting that deal of the rx 9060 xt from umart or centrecom that’s $500 for 16gb vram sapphire pulse. It’s a solid deal, but I am unsure if it’s too big of a jump. What would be my upgrade path from there? Is my Ryzen 5500 enough? Thanks.

This post wouldn’t have been made if not for managed democracy.
