Fighting sleep
I’m a FTM and my LO is 3.5 months and I’m really struggling to get him to sleep for naps and for overnight. I feel like I’m trying everything and things that were working are no longer.
He has never been great at naps but for night sleep we were able to give him a big bottle and he would then ease to sleep and sleep through to morning (10hours) for a short time. Then suddenly a flip switched and he started getting so escalated and inconsolable when putting him in his cot.
The only way I can get him to sleep is if I nurse him to sleep and then don’t move for 40mins to then attempt a cot transfer, even then it’s not always successful. Or he passes out from exhaustion. This can take hours.
He doesn’t like rocking, using a dummy, white noise, me being in the room with him, him being alone, arms in his sleep sack, arms out of his sleep sack, anything!
My mental health hasn’t been great and this has been exhausting. I’m anxious to even go to sleep incase he wakes up and when I do try to rest, I hear phantom crying.
I’m feeling so helpless, any advice, solidarity, optimism is welcomed.
