Quick fix for some Underwood standards missing feet

In case you have an Underwood standard that's missing a foot or two, but don't want to or can't get a whole set of replacement feet, I've found that these felt furniture feet actually have the same screw thread as the existing feet screws. I coupled that with some washers (code AJC at Home Depot for reference) and I think stacking 9 is an almost exact height match. This is an Underwood Rhythm Touch for reference, and it works great in a pinch. I'm even planning on experimenting more with either replacing the felt with rubber, painting the whole thing black to match, or coating it entirely in flex seal just to see what works since a package comes with 4 feet (last photo).

The first picture is after blowing off the dust.

I'm pretty excited to finally own a machine from the 1800's. Saw this Remington Standard No. 6 from 1898 come up on FB Marketplace recently and couldn't resist once I validated the serial number and found it also had the (admittedly beat up) case!

It's partially working, but has a number of issues including a broken draw band, potentially damaged mainspring, a few missing or maladjusted keys, feed rollers without rubber, and a decent bit of stiffness in the various mechanisms.

My question is this: how hard are these to work on? I've already discovered the carriage is easily removable which will help, but I want to make sure I do not risk damaging this machine while trying to fix anything. I'm also fine doing a mostly cosmetic restoration, so if anyone has tips in that regard, I'd love to hear them!
