Overcoming the sense that you are always in trouble

Hi all! I've been in therapy and what comes up often is this feeling that I am in trouble. I'm almost 50 years old, I can't shake this feeling, and it's really annoying. For instance, my husband comes home from work and my stomach clenches and I feel like I am in trouble for watching TV. For context, my husband has always told me I am never in trouble with him. He reassures me of this in word and deed, but parts of me are stuck in the past.

Do any of you feel this way, too? How do you cope?

ETA: Thank you, thank you everyone for your wonderful and supportive comments. These truly make me feel a part of a shared experience. I feel seen and I hope you all do, too.
