Hey all,
I’m currently deciding between two Mitsubishi Outlander PHEVs from the same dealer and would love some input from people with experience.
Here’s the situation:
Car 1 (2019)
~75,000 km

Battery capacity: 34.7 Ah

Slightly older, fewer options

Car 2 (2020)
~63,000 km

Battery capacity: 32.9 Ah

More options (panoramic roof, upgraded audio, heated steering wheel, etc.)

Slightly newer and lower mileage

From what I understand:
New usable capacity is around 38–40 Ah

The 2020 is closer to the lower threshold (~32.1 Ah ≈ 70%) used in warranty terms

The 2019 has a bit more “battery buffer” left

My dilemma:
The 2020 is nicer and newer

The 2019 seems technically “healthier” long term (battery)

Price difference is about €2k (2020 is more expensive).
I plan to keep the car long-term (5–8+ years), not flip it.
Questions:
How big of a deal is that ~1.8 Ah difference in real life?

Would you prioritize battery health over options and age?

If you were planning long-term ownership, which one would you pick?

Curious to hear real-world experiences 👇
