Dimensity 8500 proves benchmarks aren’t everything

I feel like people focus way too much on benchmark screenshots now. A chipset getting insane peak numbers means nothing if the phone heats up hard, throttles after 15 minutes, or drains battery like crazy during normal usage.

From the phones I’ve seen with the Dimensity 8500 so far, the biggest thing that stands out is balance. Gaming performance stays stable, multitasking feels smooth, standby battery is surprisingly good, and thermals seem much more controlled than expected for this level of performance.

Honestly feels like Mediatek focused more on sustained real-world experience instead of only chasing huge benchmark scores this time.

Would you take a cooler, more efficient chipset over slightly higher benchmark numbers?

Redmi Turbo 5 Pro: India launch date, price, specs, and what to expect

The Redmi Turbo 5 Pro rumours are starting to sound pretty interesting, especially for people who care about battery life and gaming performance. It is expected to launch in India around mid-June (some leaks say June 10) and might be priced at around 40k, depending on storage options and colour options available.

Current specs are pointing toward:

  • A big 9000mAh battery
  • Mediatek Dimensity 9500e chipset
  • 100W Fast charging support
  • 120Hz refresh rate AMOLED display
  • Performance-focused tuning
  • 50MP dual-rear cameras. 32MP front

What makes it exciting is the overall combination. A large battery alone is not enough, but pairing it with a modern efficient chipset could make a huge difference for gaming, multitasking, streaming, and daily use. For people who travel a lot or spend hours on mobile games, this setup sounds genuinely nice. Plus, most phones today still sit around 6000mAh, so 9000mAh would be a huge jump.

The biggest thing I’m looking forward to is seeing how Xiaomi balances battery life, thermals, and performance together. If the software optimization is nice and the weight stays not soooo heavy.... this could end up being one of Redmi’s strongest Turbo phones yet.

What do you all think?

Am I the only one impressed by the Motorola Edge 70 Pro?

I genuinely didn’t expect much from it initially, but the specs and early impressions actually look pretty solid for the price segment.

You’re getting a 6.8-inch 144Hz AMOLED display, a massive 6500mAh battery, clean near-stock Android, stereo speakers, IP69 rating, and the Dimensity 8500 Extreme, which surprisingly seems more stable in sustained gaming compared to some recent Snapdragon phones.

The 50MP main camera also looks decent in daylight, though low-light still feels slightly inconsistent from what I’ve seen. My only major concern is Motorola’s software update reputation long term.

But honestly, this feels like one of the few phones focused more on actual daily usage instead of gimmicky AI marketing.

Would you actually pick this over OnePlus, iQOO, or Xiaomi right now?
