Leon 2.0 TDI
Hi everyone,
I have a 2016 SEAT Leon FR 2.0 TDI manual (around 112k miles) and today about 5 minutes after leaving work I noticed a metallic rattling/chattering noise from the engine area.
It sounds like a sort of “brbrbr” metallic clanking/rattle. Hard to describe exactly. The car drives normally otherwise and there are no warning lights.
The noise appeared when the engine was already warming up a bit, not immediately on cold start. I do a lot of city driving/Uber/Amazon Flex mileage.
Extra info:
The noise is noticeable mostly at idle. I’m trying to figure out whether this sounds normal for the 2.0 TDI or if it could be DMF/flywheel, pulley tensioner, injector noise or something accessory related.
I attached a video with the sound. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Possible injector noise, flywheel, pulley/tensioner, heat shield, DPF regen, or something more serious?
Any opinions appreciated.
