Hi All, looking for my second credit card. Want to try to look for a travel card or whatever else you might recommend. Thanks all. So many options, so many YouTube socialites giving marketing advice rather than Credit Card information. Would love to hear what Reddit thinks based on a rough summarization of myself.
• Current cards: (list cards, limits, opening date)
• Capital One Savor, $2,000 limit, opened December 31, 2024
• FICO Score: 767 (Experian)
• Oldest account age: 3 years, 7 months
• Chase 5/24 status: 0
• Income: $50,000
• Average monthly spend and categories:
• dining $500
• groceries: $300
• gas: $0 (very privileged to be on a family Shell card)
• travel: Unsure (Will have a couple trips this year and I travel on occasions for work but I don’t travel personally incredibly often. Maybe traveled 3 times last year why my partner is finishing her education and we manage debt)
• other: $800+ for rent, $75 monthly parking pass, other miscellaneous may be around $300 depending on the month (cats, bad spending habits on work lunches rather than packing lunch, etc.)
• Open to Business Cards: I don’t believe I really have enough capital to warrant a business card. Unsure
• What's the purpose of your next card? Travel - Rewards, Credit Building, etc…
• Do you have any cards you've been looking at? Venture X - Airline Cards (AA or Delta) - Hotel Cards ( World of Hyatt? Maybe Bonvoy?)
• Are you OK with category spending or do you want a general spending card? I don’t really have a large amount of care for whether it’s category or general spending? Maybe category since travel?
