I'm going to Iceland at the beginning of March.
I will only be there for 3 nights and just 2 full days. Id like to make the most of my time there and see as much as possible.
Im a competent rider with my own horse and id like to ride over there, ideally in conjunction with some other sights.

Anyway, im visiting marrakech in October, Iceland in March and Egypt in August 2027.
Any suggestions for unmissable trips/avoid at all costs would be greatly appreciated
Along with suggestions for a not too expensive November/early December destination for a short break - 4 days or so. Travelling from north west uk, ideally prefer somewhere dry but dont mind cold and dry.
Ive previously been to France, Spain, Greek islands, Milan, Amsterdam, Oslo, so probably wouldnt look to revisit them at present
Im not much of a drinker although I do enjoy dance music and clubs.
Prefer to be doing something- exploring local area, local history etc is more my thing than beaches bars etc.
Currently thinking of Eastern Europe - Prague, dubrovnik maybe, but also perhaps Scandinavian or even Malta...

I have a frame that's not quite going to do what I intended and thought I'd like to grow some grapes up it.
No interest in wine so I'd prefer eating ones but they don't need to be very sweet.
North Manchester with a south facing garden and a nice sheltered spot for them
I don't mind growing in a pot and putting in the shed over winter but I've no greenhouse so needs to be fairly hardy.
Any recommendations for varieties to try? Not fussed on colour or anything just hardy and edible please
Hey, Uk based, so I'm 9 weeks post tib and fib displaced fracture, IM nail in tib and weight bearing as tolerated post op. 2 weeks after I was given an air cast boot to wear during the day. 5 weeks with boot and I'm now liberated! X rays showed starting to heal, it's a very low fracture so non union is a possibility.

I've been wearing compression socks, elevating, icing and doing physio throughout.

I have - full range of motion through my knee, weight bearing pretty much fully, walking relatively normally although it's dodge when I first get going!
​
I also have a considerable amount of swelling, limited dorsiflexion - I can just get 6cm away from toe to wall and stairs are awkward but possible.

My time in the boot gave me curled up toes and I'm guessing contracted tendons through my foot. I've also got a much flatter arch than I had before although ankle flexion other than dorsi is all pretty normal.

I have found a pair of "cosy fit" "arch support" Skechers have helped a lot with walking generally. Looking to perhaps get a second pair, but I'm not sure if I should continue arch support to you know support, or not to try and build strength again - still doing physio but I'm a week or so off my next appointment and I might get some before then.

I am on acidic clay soil and trying to get a garden established with a mix of perennials, bulbs and some self seeding wildflowers.

I want to add matter to the soil without burying what's already there.

Low maintenance with colour is a major goal. I'm not about taking bulbs out to store them, planting annuals etc. I'm happy to weed and water.

Being on clay and in the north west (Manchester) suits this as there's about 3 days a year that the soil would be worth digging - it's mud or concrete mostly!

So I'm hoping to improve the ground a bit over autumn and winter with mulch. I was thinking either bark or compost or possibly even some rotted manure, I've free access to that as I have a horse! However, the manure obviously is also acidic so I'm not sure I don't want to exclusively use that.

The areas I'm focusing on are already somewhat raised beds and I've no issue with them being a bit fuller. My intention is to get some more bulbs in shallow then something on top rather than dig them right in.

I've got some lovely pansies, violas etc that I rescued from supermarket neglect that have done really well and flowered pretty much all year. I don't want to smother them but I'd prefer not to have to dig them right out and replant if I can avoid. If I add gradually will they grow out of it - gradually can be over seasons or years. Or am I better just suck it up, get them out, throw my mulch down to a decent level and replant them?

Had a very inconsequential fall off a horse on 18th April. Unfortunately as I met the ground she also trod on my leg resulting in the above break - 600kg on one spot at about 18mph will do that to you!
I've had surgery, fully weight bearing as tolerated - currently in a boot.
Is there much I can do to promote healing? Physio is stuck til I can get out of my boot and I really want to get going asap
Honestly I am counting my blessings, it could have been so much worse in so many ways. But I'm also frustrated that something I should have walked away from fine managed to leave my lower leg attached only by soft tissue!
Follow up from fracture clinic below
Nailing was performed with a suprapatellar approach. She has been mobilising full weight-bearing with the help of 2 crutches.
Examination of the right lower limb shows operative wounds over the knee and around the ankle which is healing well without signs of any infection or inflammation. There was also a healing wound on the anterior aspect of the distal one third leg. Knee and ankle movements were full and pain-free, and no distal neurovascular deficit.
X-rays of the right tibia and fibula shows evidence of IM nailing with about 5 degree valgus at the fracture site and mild overlapping of the fibula fracture.
The boot is because at follow up they weren't happy with the fibula overlap so instructed to wear for 4 weeks except when resting
I'm super motivated, currently can walk about a mile slowly with at least one crutch and it gets a bit rough by the end.
I'm still using 2 crutches but more in case of uneven surfaces and due to lack of flexibility in my air boot
Pretty much full mobility back, physio wants to crack on with strength but we are limited with the boot and obviously bone healing has to come first.
I know objectively I've made a ton of progress. Wounds are healing well etc, energy is returning as is my appetite - first week or two I had little of either.
Im sort of conflicted by mobilising as much as I can and not overdoing it. I find I get a bit of a dull ache at times but I'm hoping that's like a good ache - like growing pains
