Dropping off for a professional wash in the morning, but would love any insight that can be offered on region or age.

I recently purchased what appears to be an old hand-painted religious panel. I am trying to learn more about its origin. Several people have suggested it may be Ethiopian Orthodox because of the style and what appears to be Ge’ez script in the halo, but I would greatly appreciate your opinion. I am not seeking an appraisal—only help identifying whether it is Ethiopian Orthodox, who the figure may be, and whether the inscription can be read.
