My wife wants to get rid of it.

Inherited this rug when we bought the house 6 years ago. My wife is not a fan but I can’t bring myself to let it go. Any knowledge or advice from the community? It’s outside in the shade today for a vacuuming and beating.

Salvaged from my grandfather- info welcome!

I recently hauled this rug from my grandfather out of storage and I’m hoping to learn more about it. I think it is hand-knotted & definitely has sentimental value.

I’d love to hear any thoughts on the style, region, or approximate age of the rug, and whether it would be worth pursuing professional restoration. Thanks in advance for any insights!

First Persian. Info welcomed.

I just bought my first Persian. Other than being a Heriz, I don’t know much. It’s 9x12. I paid $950. I’d welcome any info, thoughts, and perspectives on if I got a deal, overpaid, etc. looking forward to more!

ID Please with the value.

This one is 10x12 it was in my law’s house for more than 40 years, they passed away recently and the first thing I did was to collect their rugs, there was about 8 large handmade wool rugs and 13 smaller like 8x10 and 5x7 rugs all handmade wool and 2 very long runners, but this one I’m in love with the colors. Any advice/tips is much appreciated.

Urgent need help to ID Tabriz carpet

I really like this carpet, and unless it is a complete scam, I would probably buy it.
It is being sold as a wool and silk blend Tabriz carpet for €2,900. The seller has apparently been in the carpet business in the same neighborhood for more than 40 years. He says the carpet is not very old, has not been used, and has mostly been moved between stores. It feels handmade to me, but I have very little experience with handmade rugs and did not count the knots.
The seller also says he provides a warranty, although I assume that is only backed by his reputation and the invoice.
My main concern is authenticity. I do not want to discover later that it is a machine made rug or a mass produced rug from China being sold as a handmade Tabriz carpet.

Just a handfull of the rugs my Grandparents have in their house (check out the giant one in the first photo, covers the entire room, any idea around its origins?)

Oh my god. A departing neighbor just gave me this.

10'x14.5'

I am sorry it's in a cramped spot, it's about to be rolled back up and go out to be cleaned, but I had to post because I am so excited and I was eager to ask the brain trust for any info you might provide. Would be particularly curious for guesses on age, as the neighbor inherited it from the house's previous tenants. Hope it's not haunted. Love y'all.

(Minor reparable wear on edges, nothing fancy but god I love it. 1990s?)

Picked up two rugs at Goodwill. We are ripping up our carpets and need to put some stuff down on the floor while we figure out what we're going to do with the floors. Could I get an ID on both of these?

Just got back from Goodwill. We are in the process of ripping up our carpets and needing to find something to cover the floors with the black one I got for $15. The other one I got for 10. They are no identifying features on the back of either. Not expecting anything worth a ton.. but for $25 for the pair... They were worth it!

Does This Sound Like a Legitimate Handmade Tabriz Rug?

I really like this carpet, and unless it is a complete scam, I would probably buy it.
It is being sold as a wool and silk blend Tabriz carpet for €2,900. The seller has apparently been in the carpet business in the same neighborhood for more than 40 years. He says the carpet is not very old, has not been used, and has mostly been moved between stores. The seller also says he provides a warranty, although I assume that is only backed by his reputation and the invoice.
My main concern is authenticity. I do not want to discover later that it is a machine made rug or a mass produced rug from China being sold as a handmade Tabriz carpet.
Unfortunately, I do not have a photo of the back. However, I could see the knots, and the reverse side appears almost as detailed and well defined as the front, which makes me think it may be handmade.

Does the price sound plausible for a wool and silk Tabriz rug, assuming the seller’s description is accurate? Any advice from people with experience buying Persian rugs would be appreciated.

Thrift store score?

I purchased this rug at a thrift store today while visiting Vermont. I only paid $35! I think it was a major score. I went down the street to an antique shop and they were selling rugs like this that were smaller for $200 and up. I love it and would have paid more for it, but I am curious, what is a rug like this actually worth? I would love any insight on this rug! Thank you. 😊

Anyone watch Limiroko on yt?

So this question isn’t exactly about identifying a rug. I been watching a couple videos of this guy on yt. He seems to be knowledgeable and he also sells rugs on his website. Just wondering if anyone with more experience would rate him? And the prices for the rugs he listed. His site is www.limiroko.com

1960s Pakistan?

My dad bought this in the mid/late 1960s. We’ve had it ever since, just pulled from storage at it looks great.
Any info would be appreciated, including how to value it for insurance (not selling it).
Size is about 9x12.
Thanks all!

What did I bring home from Sweden? Beginner's first rugs

Hi everyone

I am a complete novice here, and I could use your help.

I have been wanting to get into oriental rugs, and have watched videos on youtube, from creators like Catalina Rugs and Limiroko, about what makes a genuine Oriental rug, and I have just begun looking around for a second hand one (or 5, as it turned out).

I have just been at a flea market/barn sale in Sweden, where I picked up these 5 rugs. There were others, but these were the ones that spoke to me the most. I paid a total of 1750 SEK for these five (about €235/USD 280). The salesperson was sweet and even if it turns out I have overpaid, I am certain it was not because he was trying to fleece me. In any case, whatever they are, they are worth that to me, so you don't have to spare my feelings :)

Can you help me identify these? I have included photos of the rugs followed by their back corner as best I could. I did not have a ruler handy, sadly. I know the light one is Pakistani, as there is a tag stating that. The tag of the last one is sadly illegible (to me at least), but that is the one that is the one I like the most.

The first pair of photos are of the runner, which is not immediately obvious, I realise

Anything you can tell me would be most welcome. Thank you so much for those taking the time.

Brough a "Belutch Rug" for $40: Is this real? how much is it worth?

I dont know anything about rugs. This was an impulse buy to be honest. Is this a real hand-knotted Afghan piece? If so, how much is it worth? Please swipe to see other photos of the rug. Thanks!
