Rug ID, Thanks in advance.
Can someone help me identify it, and maybe give me an estimate. I’d deeply appreciate it. Thanks!
Totally impulse bought my very first ancient coin... how did I do?
So, I’ve always been super fascinated by history but never actually owned a piece of it. That changed today. I saw this coin, had a massive impulse-buy moment, and now I’m officially down the rabbit hole!
The auction house listing had it down as a "Constantine I 'Urbs Roma' bronze commemorative follis (circa 330-333 AD) - Heraclea mint."
To be completely honest, I don't know the first thing about ancient coins or how to spot a fake, but I just fell in love with the design. The front has the helmeted bust of Roma, and the back shows the classic she-wolf suckling Romulus and Remus under two stars. The deep green patina and the details on the wolf just looked so cool to me.
Since I'm a total newbie at this:
- Does this look like the real deal to you guys?
- Did I ID the mint right? (The bottom letters look like SMH something to me, but I'm guessing).
- Any absolute beginner tips for storing/handling these?
Would love to hear your thoughts. I have a feeling this is going to be a very dangerous new hobby for my wallet...
Backyard collection
I discovered a collection of moss and small plants in my backyard and decided to create something beautiful by combining them. I’d love some help identifying them.
