My roommate used up 6 of my toilet rolls in a week

Story/vent — this was in the past so I’m just telling the story, no advice needed!

Edit for TLDR: roommate used up all 6 of my remaining TP rolls the week she moved in, the start to a terrible semester

In college I lived in an apartment-style dorm, 4bdrm and 2baths. All 3 of my old roommates graduated and moved out at the end of my junior year, which meant that in the summer after jr I got 3 new and completely random roommate. The girl in the room next to mine, who also shared my bathroom was an incoming sophomore and the problem roommate.

The first week she moves in her bf is staying with her too. They used up ALL 6 OF MY REMAINING TOILET ROLLS that were in the bathroom. To this day I had NO IDEA WTF THEY DID WITH IT? She never admitted to it and got super defensive when confronted, saying she only used her own rolls. Obviously I knew they were mine, they were from the pack that was in the bathroom before she even moved in. Hers were in the storage closet. At this time she also used another roommate’s kitchen things without washing them, and also got defensive and acted like she was being attacked when other roommate revoked sharing privileges because of this.

I left for 6 weeks in the summer, and when I came back the bathroom trash was OVERFLOWING. Other roommate informed me that problem roommate hadn’t been there in about a month. So she filled up the trash with her used pads and other miscellaneous trash and then just LEFT. When she just moved in we had to tell her where the trash room was 3 times (it’s literally in the basement) so maybe she’s just dumb and forgot again.

When fall semester started it’s when things got worse though. She would leave the bathroom without flushing properly so I would lift up the toilet cover to her leftover poop. I tried to be nice about it and not embarrass her and texted her like “hey girl just so you know our flush is a bit weak sometimes and has to be held down a few seconds for it to flush completely :)” ignored me and kept doing it. I had to say it completely literally before she got it😭 I was saving you the shame girl!!!

At some point our toilet started clogging constantly, probably like once a month. I had lived here for a year before her and it NEVER happened. I would put in a maintenance request and leave for class, so usually it got fixed when I wasn’t around. Finally one day I managed to catch the plumber while he was there and asked if he was able to tell what the issue was. He said it looks like too much toilet paper is being flushed. AND WHO DO WE KNOW USES AN EGREGIOUS AMOUNT OF TP FOR MYSTERIOUS PURPOSES?

One time while it was clogged, after I had submitted a maintenance request but before it was fixed, her stupid ass didn’t realize it was clogged (the water level was literally unnaturally high!!!) and flushed which caused the pee water to soak the floor, including our two bath mats (mine and hers). I woke up to this and was literally speechless but had to go to class so I just put the wet bath mats in the showed and left. I stayed out late that night but do you think she cleaned up the mess because she was the one who caused it??? NO!!! I had to do laundry at 11pm and mop the floor. (Yes I could have left it and forced her to do it in the morning but I also needed to use the bathroom, it would just be prolonging my suffering and obviously it didn’t affect her quality of life).

The last time she clogged the toilet I just said man I am no longer dealing with this. I told the other roommates about the situation and just used their bathroom until I moved out (at this point it was only weeks left). Yes, we brought up issues with her. No, RA and Housing are not useful in these cases. I’m just glad I only had to do it for a few months. I pity whoever had to live with her next. If I had to live with her longer I probably would have escalated things, but I knew I was almost out and dealing with it would just add more stress to my senior year.

When she first moved in, her dad was with her, and he asked me if somebody came to clean the bathroom. IT WAS A PRIVATE APARTMENT???? I should have known from then that she was a spoilt, entitled, undomesticated dumbass.

If you read this far thank you. I just hate her so much I loved living in that dorm because she moved in, she ruined it all for me. I know it’s not even close to being as bad as the worst stories on her but living through it was still a pain!!!
