IEA employment service provider, is insisting on me (50F) applying for apprenticeships and Traineeships.

IEA employment service provider is insisting on me applying for apprenticeships and traineeships. Im 50 and was assessed by centrelink as having a partial disability ( osteoarthritis and mental health disorders)

Not eligible for DSP, as my conditions are not considered permanent, and are considered treatable.

Employment service provider consultant and I had a brief conversation during our recent face to face appointment, where we discussed the likelihood of me finding employment.

Being 50, and not having a recent employment history due to having to care for disabled son, for the last 20 yrs. I also do not have any references.

Makes finding work near impossible.

As employers want to hire younger cheaper labour, and want to only hire those with sales degrees for call centre and cleaning type rolls.

So as a solution, my employment services provider has insisted on me applying for traineeships and apprenticeships.

I was of the opinion that traineeships and apprenticeships. Were for younger people., would an employer give these to someone over 50?

I have been applying for these type roles, but have been unsuccessful.
