I recently installed a new rear fender and taillight on my Harley. When I removed the old taillight, it had a blue wire and a purple wire connected to it. The new taillight has a green wire and a red wire.

Can anyone tell me which of the new wires should connect to the blue wire and which should connect to the purple wire? it’s an old bike so there were no quick connectors I had to cut the wires themself.
