[Routine Help] Need Advice Establishing!!
Hello! I’ve recently taken the initiative to try to properly get into skin care. From what I can tell my skin is rather normal(?) At least since I started working out and being healthier. But I also feel like I can be a bit sensitive to a lot of products and occasionally dry?
I do deal with these fine points of texture here and there on my cheeks and cheekbones that sort of remind me of keratosis pilaris but overall my skin is rather smooth (minus breakouts on my forehead after I indulged in something, lol). I do have some stubborn white heads at my nose, especially at the sides and find myself getting dry in winter, particularly at the cheeks and mouth.
I have never been religious in using it but I have used, on occasion, the Cetaphil gentle cleanser if my face was triggered by some other source. Seems fine but I also… don’t have a moisturizer so I end up just balling it and ending up dry (or slathering sunscreen on for relief). I know. I’m selling it. 😭💔
I know La Roche-Posay Anthelios Melt-In Milk Sunscreen Lotion actually messed me up when I first tried it months ago and I got really scared so stopped. I currently started using Nitrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch 70 SPF again—it absorbed actually really well into my face and didn’t leave a white cast like it did when I tested it on my arms. Felt nice.
Overall, I’m just looking for basic suggestions and advice in regard to at least a simple cleanser + moisturizer (and change in SPF if you guys think there could be a better choice). I’m also really insecure about this discoloration at the corner of my lips as a a brown, olive-skin girlie that makes me look so frowny. I did read though that I should at least have a basic routine settled before I try to test the hyperpigmentation products though, hence why I’m looking for suggestions!
I also am active daily and get sweaty at the face and mustache area and wonder if a Hypochlorous Acid spray would be recommended because I can’t really pause my day to clean my face to avoid a breakout.
I’m not looking for the shiny-glass look either. Just trying to take care of my skin overall.
Thank you so much and I’m so sorry it’s so long but I honestly didn’t know where else to go to ask for in depth advice.
