Never trust a hoarder bearing gifts.
Any ideas for how to clean goo-ified plastic from synthetic fibers?
My mother is a hoarder. She gave me a pair of nice-looking running shoes a couple of days ago. All well and good, they looked fine, with what looked like only a little bit of wear on the inside of the shoe, where the logo is usually printed in the heel. Otherwise flawless seeming condition, so I gave them a shot.
I wore them for about four hours today and friends, I have no idea what happened, but the insole is gone. in its place is a sticky, tarry goop that's caked to the bottom of my socks. I can pick it off in gobs, but it's not particularly water soluble. Which sucks because they're compression stockings and the most expensive socks I own.
Any ideas?
