Our first book was Model Home by Rivers Solomon. I didn't love the book, it wasn't very scary, I did like it though. But I cannot express to you how excited I was that I joined a book club in my very red county that chose a book about queer bipoc characters!!

But I read the book, rearranged plans to make it to the book club meeting... and then I got sick! I couldn't go to the meeting. I was devastated. But then the person who started the book club, started a discord for it. And the meeting was live on discord!! I was so happy that I got to be included!

Anyways, now we need to submit suggestions for the next meeting. I can't think of anything... I need help. I want something scary, but also that can be found on audiobook. I exclusively listen to audiobooks. (I work too much and have too long of a commute for anything else, don't judge me!)

The people of my book club did not have any issues with the intergenerational trauma, sexual violence, or child abuse of Model Home. The issues most seemed to have was with the writing style and it wasn't clear when the narrator switched from Esri to Elijah. My point is, nothing really is off the table, we just prefer better writing... no offense meant.

Thank you in advance!
